ØV CÜNT censorship
What’s the source for ØV CÜNT being stylised as ØV C--T on the show? In the Meet the Queens video it’s uncensored. 2.24.250.25 (talk) 21:25, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- The table's current inline citation: https://ew.com/tv/drag-race-philippines-season-2-cast-promo-looks/ ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:37, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- That source doesn’t discuss how her name will be graphically rendered on the show.
- It seems that EW have censored the name themselves for the purpose of their article. In the Meet the Queens video (which is directly from World of Wonder), it’s shown in full as ØV CÜNT.
- I don’t think it’s correct to assume how it will be graphically rendered in the show based on how it appears in the EW article with no specific mention of the name being censored in the show, and the only official source we have showing the name uncensored. 2.24.250.25 (talk) 21:44, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Another Believer and 2.24.250.25: I have corrected the note by inserting both names; keeping the source version as 'provisional version'. When the episode airs, we will make the appropriate changes to the page, but before that, let's avoid further editing and risk an unnecessary edit war and/or a total lockdown of the page. -- Dominikcapuan (talk) 19:39, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- Happy for the note to stay as it is now, noting the discrepancy between the EW article and WoW’s MTQ video. However the Meet the Queens trumps EW as a direct source of on-screen graphics, so the name in the table should reflect what has been used by WoW rather than a third party publication. It’s also how the contestant self-identifies. 2.24.250.74 (talk) 20:00, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

- @2.24.250.25: Yes... but I would remind you that, due to issues of current use of the source', for now we have to mainly take into account the name of the EW article, regardless of whether it is third party or not (although it makes no sense since they had the first exclusive on the cast announcement). So I kindly ask you to avoid further editing, before appropriate action would be taken for recidivism. -- Dominikcapuan (talk) 20:13, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- I’ve added the official MTQ video as a reference so it can also be used alongside the EW article :) 2.24.250.74 (talk) 20:55, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- @2.24.250.25: Not done I'm sorry but it doesn't work that way. Only web articles can be used as source type and not video formats I kindly ask you to stop before I report you in the section on problematic IPs. -- Dominikcapuan (talk) 23:07, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- That’s not true, the World of Wonder website is already used as a source in this article (for the premiere date). Please stop edit warring, we have reached a compromise that works until the first episode airs. You are imposing your own personal preference onto an article and disregarding logic and reason. @2.24.250.25: Leaving aside the fact that such a WP is not inherent to the topic at hand, as I have already explained to you the conditions are and must remain, those mentioned above; that is, to keep the name mentioned in the EW article (which had the exclusive), AND THEN to change it after the episode is broadcast. Literally just waiting two weeks does not take that long. So I kindly ask you, which would actually be a euphemism, to abide by the conditions given to you, while still following the rules of the platform. -- Dominikcapuan (talk) 21:18, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
Additional Censorship
The MTQ video, while showing ØV CÜNT in the youtube video, the video sections that you can use when you scroll to another part of the video *also* censor it to C--T. Sigh.Naraht (talk) 01:13, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- After analyzing the whole video, and noting the confirmation of this, the name OV C--T is used in both sources while the name complete is mentioned for only 2 seconds... @Another Believer, Naraht, and 2.24.250.25: since the C--T nomenclature is used de facto in both sources, I would say it is appropriate to officially use OV C--T as the providential name until the broadcast of the first episode Dominikcapuan (talk) 09:05, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- That is due to YouTube’s censors. If you look at the official World of Wonder website underneath the MTQ video there is a cast list, where the name is shown uncensored - see here (click on ‘show more’) 2.24.250.74 (talk) 09:31, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- I look at it this way. Everything that is under World of Wonder's direct control (the website and the video's contents) says ØV CÜNT, OTOH, the things under someone else's rules (Youtube version of the video with sections and EW), Censors it. Given that the program is actually created by World of Wonder, they're lack of Censorship will be what we are looking for.Naraht (talk) 01:28, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Name stylization
@Another Believer, 2.24.250.25, Germaperry01, Thijslandsmeer, Griffindaly, and Naraht: After a compromise (not so much) has been reached on how to insert the name from the contestant ØV CÜNT, it is time to formalize it to the rest of the Wikipedia rules.
In fact, following the guidelines regarding the standardization of names (ex. WP:NCCPT), after finding that the art name is not an acronym, I acted accordingly by following the guidelines and put the rest of the name in lower case (Øv Cünt). However, our dear IP decided for the umpteenth time, undo my changes, and restored the page without leaving any kind of motivation.
Therefore, to avoid a 1v1 situation again, I decided to ask the other project contributors in saying their POV, and to act accordingly through a consensus outcome. I cordially await your intervention to find a solution.
P.S. for the anonymous IP, I kindly invite you to avoid undoing every single edit that I implemented in these pages, since (allegedly) it is turning into a simple attack on me, since I, that you and everyone else, follow the rules of the platform when we edit this page. Dominikcapuan (talk) 10:44, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'm of the personal opinion that the MTQ video on the WOW website trumps everything else. But there, all of the queens names are done entire in capital letters, for example: NICOLE PARDEUX. *However*, if you listed to her explanation of the name, the OV is from her original drag name Original Virgin, and the OV comes from that. So, I think the V would be capitalized, the question for me is the C. the "unt" on the other hand should definitely be lower case. As far as I can tell, it should OV Cunt. (*with* the slash and Umlaut, but I'm not including those in this discussion). (I've also found a *lot* of sources that capitalize it that way. (Think of her as the JD Salinger of Drag. :) )Naraht (talk) 12:25, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- After re-watching the MTQ interview, I would say that it is appropriate to act as Narhat advised; i.e., restore the ØV in block letters, symbolizing the initials of her first drag name (Olivia Virgin), while the Cünt, stay standardized in lower case as established by the WP:NCCPT guidelines. As always, I ask the other users mentioned above for their opinion on this. Dominikcapuan (talk) 15:44, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I'm not too worried about this but I found these if helpful:
---Another Believer (Talk) 16:55, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- Twitter ØV CÜNT
- World of Wonder ØV CÜNT
- 2.24.250.74 (talk) 17:25, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- See also Drag Race Thailand (season 1) where the contestant name JAJA is capitalised because that’s how it is stylised in the show (also not an acronym). 2.24.250.74 (talk) 17:31, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, as JAJA herself confirmed, her name is a Macedonia fusion between his real name and the word diva, turning it into an acronymic expression called "JAJA", so it falls within the rare exceptions where the name can remain completely bold. However, leaving out the ØV which are the initials of his old Drag name, the word Cünt is not an acronym and therefore it is proper to keep it in lower case, as already three active users in the discussion have agreed.
- Also, I want to add that, as Another Believer has shown, the Philstar site mentions the contestant as "ØV Cünt," confirming that the total name in block letters is Queen's personal stylistic choice and not a given, so it must be formalized to the Wikipedia style. Dominikcapuan (talk) 18:10, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- the EW source, though censored, renders it C--T, with a capital T. i’m inclined to have it as ØV CÜNT, all caps, on our chart, but i’m not too committed one way or the other… Griffindaly (talk) 19:50, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- Dominikcapuan Um, the whole setup of Drag Race is that it is an acronym of Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent.Naraht (talk) 20:30, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- Naraht Is there a source that attests to this? Because if there is for me there is no problem reformatting the name to the first version. Dominikcapuan (talk) 20:32, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- I checked the MTQ video one last time an ØV said that the "Cunt" "was given from a friend of hers that told her that she came off as bitchy while in drag". So it's more an adjective than an acronym but, if anyone prefers the "bold" version, we can adapt the page; even tho I prefer the actual version of the name (since follow the WP:NCCPT). Dominikcapuan (talk) 21:11, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- It’s not about what you prefer. The sooner you realise this, you will stop being the cause of edit wars. 2.24.250.74 (talk) 22:48, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
- @2.24.250.74: Despite the fact that there were other people who had expressed their opinions and preferences about it without being challenged, and that you coincidentally decided to questioned only mine... as you can also see on the main page, I resotred the name in capital letters since the majority preferred the old name, so it was acted upon by consensus and restored of changes.
- As I have already told you I don't know how many times at this point, I would appreciate it if you would stop with this rhetorical setted against me, since changes are made following the rules and, if I remember correctly, I am not the first person who edited the page without respecting neither the sources present, nor the rules of the platform, nor the reasons of consensual that indicated to you how to write a page with reliable sources.
- The page will now remain intact until the broadcast of the first episode, and in case of possible changes and/or stylization, they will be edited accordingly. Dominikcapuan (talk) 09:21, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

ØV Cünt
I presume by this point, we have a graphic on the actual show (episode 2 since they did a split opening) showing the name with the V and the unt being either capitalized or not.Naraht (talk) 17:13, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Done After viewing the episode on WOW Plus (and seeing the credits) I can officially confirm what I have been stating since Day 1: That is, that the name is transcribed as ØV Cünt. I have already fixed all the pages accordingly (along with the various Hometowns) and we now have all the data correctly entered (if you don't count K*tk*t's unknown age).
