History re UK industry, clusters, ex-army boots, other firms, local area etc

Found an interesting source http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/sinodisp/au/cases/cth/FCA/2000/1122.html[1]

Interesting to a lot of readers because it links-in to so many other things, like the way UK industry tried to survive the 1980s recession, or the way UK firms sometimes worked together and sometimes not. For example anyone who lives in Northampton is likely to know the Hawkins boot factory, still standing near the town centre, and their history of making "Hawkins Astronaut". It also explains, less importantly, why Griggs boots were sold as "AIRWEAR" until about the turn of the century
