The Drager company certainly exists in Germany, but I read their history (in PDF form) and it makes no mention of Alexander B. Drager, and when doing a search on Dragerman nothing about them being mine rescue workers came up - except in sources that cull information from Wikipedia. (Or Vice Versa - it's in the online dictionary.)

Drägerman (Draegerman) really design mine workers and rescuers. The terms seems to originate in Nova Scotia. An hommage is given to them in a small B-movie, Draegerman Courage (1) produced by the Warner Bros. in 1937 and directed by Henry King. At the beginning of the movie we can read that the film is dedicated to the "draegermen of the United States and Canada, heroic mine rescue workers who have saved the lives of untold hundreds of their fellow men." The movie is supposed to be based on tru events : a cave-in at the Moose River gold mine in Nova Scotia in 1936.(2)

I've also found nothing about this A. B. Dräger on the company's page, but I found something in the internet that is not a copy of Wikipedia. I tried to mention both explanations. Nearly some WP:OR, I must admit. --Cyfal (talk) 16:44, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've written up Alexander Bernhard Dräger as best I can - two solid sources in German encyclopaedias, but a very stubby article. I found NO evidence that he invented BA sets, and have tagged this article accordingly. Narky Blert (talk) 01:07, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
