[edit]The use of the phrase "Swiss watchmaker" is questionable. Doxa have been very reluctant over many years to provide proof that their watches are Swiss made, as is claimed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.193.188 (talk) 09:30, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑ I'm really tired of seeing this "SWISS MADE skepticism" appearing here and there.
--1. The term "SWISS MADE" is legislated by the Swiss Federal Government. You have to meet the standards set by the government so that you can legally label your watches as "SWISS MADE" (a. Swiss movement, b. Cased in Switzerland, c. Inspected in Switzerland, and d. at least 60% components are Swiss). DOXA official site also clearly says their watches exceed this standard.
--2. Now tell me which Swiss watch manufacturers have "provided proof" of their "swissness". There are more than 500 Swiss brands that are members of the Fédération de l'Industrie Horlogère Suisse, FH (Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry), and DOXA is one of them. How many of them have provided the "proof" you needed? If you won't ask other 500 Swiss watchmakers of the FH to "prove" their "Swissness", then I don't see your argument makes any sense. You don't provide proof that you are innocent, so I can call you a criminal? You are here just because you are another DOXA hater. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.159.13.19 (talk) 06:51, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
Doxa Sub was not the first divers watch that was commercially purchasable but DOXA was the first orange face dive watch commecially available.
This is, in fact, not the assertion or claim made. DOXA was the first commercially available - i.e. for sale to the general public dive watch equipped with an HRV valve. The HRV was co-developed with DOXA and ROLEX collaborating. Rolex received the right to patent, DOXA received the right to incorporate the device and sell it to the general public first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.254.126.154 (talk) 16:11, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Doxa Sub was not the first divers watch with HRV. Skin diver magazine documents the first advert. for a dive watch equipped with a Helium escap valve

A man by the name Urs Eschle is in possesion of the proof, that DOXA coinvented the HRV
HEBDOMAS, applied for a patent for an 8-days watch with a visible escapement. “The patent was granted on 10 january 1889 but this in turn was purchased by a watchmaker from La Ferrière, Arthur Graizely, who developed the watch into a commercial success.” Recommended Reading, http://www.hebdomas.net/HEBDOMAS%20depuis%201888.html, and http://www.hebdomas.net/hebdcat5.html.
Hebdomas eight day watches were popular and available to the public as an 8-day movement prior DOXA.

Fair use rationale for Image:Doxa Logo.png
[edit]Image:Doxa Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
