What exactly might be the "worldwide view of the subject"? Must every person be examined for example by japanese or swedish point of view or what? In my point of view, I've never seen her on tv, on MTV she was before my time.82.141.125.204 (talk) 21:23, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent Birthdate

[edit]

This is retarded and pretty commmon here. The 2 birthdates given were off by 4 years. I corrected them, but geesh! When you change a date pay attention!!.—Preceding unsigned comment added by My cat's breath smells like catfood (talkcontribs)

The birthdate that was corrected was done by a family member and they should know! Julie's birthdate is 27 August 1959. 82.71.15.74 (talk) 18:11, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disco Champ

[edit]

I watched a video of the 1979 world disco championship on YouTube. It is very poor quality. Julie Brown is indeed the winning dancer. The announcer says that she is 20 years old, which would mean in 1979 that she was born in 1959 or 1960. The announcer says she is from Bridgend in South Wales, and has three brothers and sisters.

This online article discusses this further: https://www.locarnoboy.co.uk/downtown-julie-brown-world-disco-dancing-champion-plus-the-celebrity-flashing-diva-and-a-huge-cardboard-box/

(The article is a bit confusing, because in addition to talking about Julie Brown, it also talks about another woman, simply called "a diva" and not identified by name. This "diva" performed a song in the 1979 competition, watching the video I discovered this "diva" was in fact Patti Boulaye) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.8.185.16 (talk) 03:08, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Football?

[edit]

The article reads "conducting on- and off-field interviews with football athletes"...is that American Football, or English (aka Soccer)?

Birth year

[edit]

Some sites have 1959 listed and some have 1963 listed. Here's footage of her dancing in the disco dance finals in 1979.

It introduces as being 20 years old at the time. So it's more likely that the 1959 year is the correct one. However unless that gets published by multiple reliable sources, it should stay out of the article for now. Kcj5062 (talk) 06:10, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Earth Girls Are Easy

[edit]

Julie Brown was also a significant character in the movie Earth Girls Are Easy as can be seen in the Wikipedia article for that movie. 2600:1700:3910:E4E0:F5CA:E141:BC4E:A31F (talk) 10:54, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
