Bobby Fischer
[edit]To my knowledge, Bobby Fischer was not a resident of Douglaston, but took refuge from the media in advance of his trip to Iceland at the home of a friend (manager) that lived in the manor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.75.85.80 (talk) 10:23, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Merger with Little Neck
[edit]@Epicgenius: Why was this done? Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 00:48, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Kew Gardens 613: The boundaries and definitions of these two neighborhoods overlap significantly. The peninsula north of Northern Boulevard is sometimes considered part of Little Neck, and the section east of Marathon Parkway south of the LIE is sometimes considered part of Douglaston. Also, there is a lot of info that I recently added (demographics, ZIP codes, education, police/fire/health) that would have been duplicated between the two articles. Even the history is common to both articles, so that's why I merged them into one page about the greater neighborhood. epicgenius (talk) 01:46, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Change of Douglaston Plaza Shops
[edit]As of 2021, the Fairway Market in Douglaston Plaza has been remodeled and is now a Food Bazaar.[1] In addition, Grimaldi's Pizza has since reopened (at least for takeout) and the Burger King has closed.
