Numbers, Variants & Citations
Greetings, wanted to add to the article, since a few of the variants used rare, early engines that lacked Wiki Articles of their own [1] [2]
the DT-6 using one of the few Wright (Lawrence) P-1s built it's basically a 9 cylinder R-1654 (Bore x Stroke:6.0 x 6.5 in.)
Wright T-2/ Typhoon (Used in DT-4, DT-5 & DTB)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_T-3_Tornado
https://airandspace.si.edu/collection-objects/wright-tornado-t-3-v-12-engine/nasm_A19660461000
Also, the article numbers have trouble adding up.
The Intro has 46+ 20+ 6+ 11+ 7, from Douglas, L-W-F, NAF, D-W & Norway respectively, adding to the 90 listed in the InfoBox.
But the Variants List 3 DT-1 & 64 DT-2 with several refits, like 4 DT-4/-5 w/ Wright T-2/-2B & 1 w/ Wright P-1 Radial, which isn't close to 90 Though this:
http://www.aerofiles.com/_doug2.html
lists the variants WITH serial numbers, so it looks to be a more reliable source. though it doesn't say that the Peruvian DTB has a "Typhoon" (likely "T-3 Tornado") engine
Also, for legibility having the numbers built in the Intro text looks really sloppy:
″Douglas built 46 DT-1 and DT-2 torpedo bombers for the U.S. Navy, Norwegian Navy, and Peruvian Navy. 20 DT-2 aircraft were built under license by the L-W-F Engineering Company Inc., six by the Naval Aircraft Factory (NAF), and 11 by the Dayton-Wright Company. Another seven were built for Norway under license by Marinens Flyvebåtfabrik. ″
instead try:
Construction: Douglas 46 (3 DT-1, 4 DTB, 1 DT-2B, 38 DT-2?) L-W-F 20 (DT-2) NAF 6 (4 DT-4, 2 becoming DT-5?) D-W 11 (SDW/SDW-1A?) Mariens 7 (DT-2C) Flyvebåtfabrik (License)
Columns and Tabs are friendlier on the Eyes. It could even be a Table. Hope this helps!2603:7080:CB3F:5032:EC60:CC8D:F1B9:C59C (talk) 02:38, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
