I added this page mainly because of the article about Elizabeth J. Feinler that was featured on Tuesday April 19, 2011. Lots of people have double names, and I'm surprised that this article had not been written sooner.
Please do not confuse this article with the Double-barrelled name.Rajpaj (talk) 08:18, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Article is entirely wrong
[edit]Double names are not two names. See the German article. A double name is a fusion of two given names jointed with a hyphen or written as one word. In Germany it's not allowed to sign anything with only one part of the name, that's different if you have more than one given name. Graham, in this case, is just a middle name. --2.245.209.170 (talk) 21:41, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- I am not quite sure, if article is "entirely wrong" (this broad definition "double name = two names" is sometimes used: [1]). But there is definitely missig part about narrower meaning, that double name means "compound given name"[2][3]. (or at least relation between "two names" - "double name" - "compound given name") --marv1N (talk) 14:16, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
