Not a Sandwich
[edit]I'm going to revert this back to Double Down (KFC). This is not a sandwich. There's no such thing as a "breadless sandwich." That's like a stickless lollipop or a waterless ocean. --TimSPC (talk) 20:36, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- TimSPC, note that the article you are suggesting is now a redirect. --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 00:08, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Sandwich debate
[edit]See Talk:Double Down (KFC). Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a sandwich as first "two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between" or "one slice of bread covered with food" and secondly as "something resembling a sandwich; especially : composite structural material consisting of layers often of high-strength facings bonded to a low strength central core." Several media outlets cited in the article use the term as well. Please consider the importance of reliable, verifiable sources and no original research. White 720 (talk) 00:11, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
But the chicken is breaded however, it should be considered a sandwich. The grilled version shouldn't. 174.5.11.131 (talk) 02:33, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- A construction consisting of two persons surrounding a third person is also known as a "sandwich" even if none of the persons is a bread in whole or in part. Likewise, a metal sandwich consists of two metals surrounding a third; the term applies even in the case when none of the metals is a bread. Note the second definition in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary entry for "sandwich." White 720 (talk) 04:22, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Oreo sandwich cookie, ice cream sandwich, sandwich-structured composite, etc. 198.151.130.64 (talk) 18:39, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
Where is it sold?
[edit]I don't think it is sold in the UK? I have never seen it advertised although I never go to KFC. I think there should be a list of the countries it is sold in Sweetie candykim (talk) 11:40, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
It's appeared in Korea now too as the same Zinger Double Down seen elsewhere. Saw the Facebook ad on 12/3/2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.158.198.91 (talk) 13:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Bottom Line
[edit]"From its April 12 nationwide launch through early July, a KFC spokesperson reported that the chain had sold 10 million of the sandwiches for a total of about US$50 million in revenue. An analyst said that figure accounts for 5% of KFC's sales in that time period, a figure insubstantial to KFC's financial bottom line.[26]"
The citation listed here makes no mention of the 5% figure being insubstantial to KFC's bottom line. Also not sure of the relevance of the 3-year old figures now that the Double Down is an established product. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.145.120.11 (talk) 17:37, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Related to (subset of)?
[edit]It may make sense to cross link to Cordon bleu (dish), as this is essentially a chicken cordon bleu. 104.186.132.216 (talk) 10:32, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Real nutritional analysis
[edit]Is there a real objective nutritional analysis available? Comparing these packaged heart attacks with other unhealthy KFC products is not a useful exercise.Royalcourtier (talk) 01:52, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
I have found citations for the nutrition information, but I am a lowly IP address, and the page is locked, so I can't add them. If a verified user would be so kind as to do it for me, I would be grateful. See "Double Down with OR Filet" under "sandwiches" on this wayback page for what seems to be the information currently listed (cir. June 17, 2011). The double down is last seen on the nutrition facts page dated July 29, 2013(see bottom of pdf pages) at which time its nutrition info is slightly different. If someone wanted to go to the bother of updating the table, I would imagine the more recent information would be better, and would better reflect the content of any limited promotional runs the sandwich might have in the future.

New Zealand Double Down again?
[edit]I am pretty sure New Zealand reintroduced the Double Down again in 2018. Got reliable sources? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 06:39, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Why is this a semi-protected article?
[edit]Why is an article about a KFC sandwich semi-protected? I've seen other wikipedia articles about more controversial topics, such as middle eastern affairs, with less protection than this article about the meaty abomination.
Why? Why is this a semi-protected article?

- Seemingly because of "persistent sockpuppetry". Not sure what went wrong here exactly. You could request on WP:RFPP to unprotect the article. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 10:41, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
