'A' and 'an'
[edit]I changed 'a' to 'an' in this revision so that the text would read "an American lawyer". In the edit box it did read "an United States" but there was a pipe in the link so it displayed as "an American lawyer". Following Student7's revision of 2 July 2007, the article now contains "He was a American lawyer". LewPot talk 12:29, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Bridgman, not Bridgeman
[edit]Bridgman is the correct spelling according to these independent sources: 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica, Columbia, Encyclopedia of World Biography, U Penn, West's Encyclopedia of American Law (enough? :-) ). I'm going to request a Move. I probably can't do it myself because the article originally had the correct name, but in 2007 that page weas erroneously turned into a redirect that has itself been through several edits. - On further review, the change in 2007 was done by rewriting the pages in question, not by a formal move. As a result, the history is split between these pages, so there is little point in doing a move back. See Talk:Dorman Bridgman Eaton for more details. David Brooks (talk) 01:10, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
