Reliable sources

[edit]

This article needs some otherwise it's headed for AfD. – ukexpat (talk) 16:15, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't found the reliable sources you seek to demonstrate notability. However, I do know that due to consolidation in the ropeway business there are only 2 major ropeway manufacturers left in the world and Doppelmayr is one of them. So, please proceed with caution This article needs improvement, not elimination. -- TRosenbaum (talk) 04:33, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BRANCH. Once PR/promo trivia puff are removed, there's not enough contents at either page to justify their own and I think it's best to merge and redirect. Graywalls (talk) 15:40, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose; the current structure seems to be working for readers. The Cable Transportation Engineering Company history fits well on the current page, but would be unbalanced on a merged page; the USA page has non-trivial references from multiple sources, which support independent notability. Poorly sourced (a user-generated site) and does not appear to be independently notable. MB 18:00, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. There is enough information on the site for Partek to be its own wikipedia article. The Partek brand of chairlift is still around today as a parts manufacturer, and thus is still (technically) in the industry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tv.Rule (talkcontribs) 23:58, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That is not a criterion we use for determining whether a subject has its own article. There needs to be in-depth coverage in multiple reliable sources. Currently, the article has one source which doesn't look reliable. Mentioning the company here is a alternative to deletion. If you can find more sources, go ahead and add them to the article and that change the outcome of this proposal. MB 01:47, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Partek was never bought by Doppelmayr/CTEC. They sold designs to Doppelmayr and entered into a 5-year non compete agreement on new installations using those designs. Partek has continued to relocate Borvig and Partek lifts, service them, and, since 2009, has been installing new lifts almost every year. I have updated the article to reflect this, with sources. Additionally, Partek is the current iteration of Borvig, one of the largest North American lift manufacturers who has installed hundreds of lifts. Partek is currently the 3rd largest lift manufacturer in North America, after Doppelmayr/Skytrac and Leitner-Poma Trolley8 (talk)
