Currently, this says the railroad definition of a doodlebug is a gas-electric powered car. Is that too restrictive? I thought any self propelled single car was considered a doodlebug, be it gas-mechanical, diesel-electric, diesel-mechanical, etc.

Disambiguation

This article should be edited to be a more regular disambiguation page (see: WP:MOSDAB). Articles on specific things called "doodlebug" can then have paranthetical qualifiers, such as Doodlebug (rail car) and Doodlebug (insect). -Acjelen 21:01, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Since, as a typical American, I am ignorant of cricket, I did not know what "head high full toss" meant. Neither the bowling, fielding, nor wicket keeping articles were much help. Indeed, Fielding strategy (cricket) needs some work or merger with Fielding (cricket). doodleBug website exclusion from article.

It's a shame that something so wonderful a community and art based website is being excluded from this encyclopedia.

doodleBug is a FREE website that allows users to create 'oodles of doodles' in an online archive.

a doodle on doodleBug is a drawing done with a UNIQUE 'playback' feature, that allows artists/observers to watch the progress and process of a doodle being sketched. There are many benefits for artists wishing to improve, or just enjoy others artwork. Each doodle at doodleBug, is able to be voted on by the doodleBug community participants. This enables feedback and comments, thus allowing for input from outside sources, contructive criticism, and the joy of someone appreciating your style or artwork. There are also competitions and a doodle based chat room, that are super fun and engage this community to it's fullest potential.

Once again, this is a NON-Commercial website and is certainly in the spirits of other such websites that are listed within Wikipedias online encyclopedia, including others such as iSketch and Oekaki boards.

I hope that someone will reconsider allowing doodleBug to be listed in an article for this encyclopedia. As it's a one of a kind type of website and has a huge following and community that cares about it's livelyhood and place in internet history.

I was very suprised to see that my article on this website was deleted. I can understand how it could be considered spam just from glancing at it, but I assure you, the article I wrote was not intended for advertisement. I even forgot to include the URL! Our inspiration for adding doodleBug to Wikipedia was that a member saw iSketch.net (doodleBug members' favorite alternate site) listed in Wiki, and we thought it would be fun to be listed too. The thing that caught my attention the most was that the deletion notice for the article pointed out that doodleBug is an "unremarkable" website. I beg your pardon, even with a biased opinion - doodleBug has appeared in several printed magazines and popular "fun link" sites. This isn't just some site where a couple of random people post a few scraps of art.

(Maybe not as well written at RedSodaPop's argument, but I thought I would defend the article I wrote.)

Personal Note: The sentiments above are an attempt to display the love of the site shared by all of its members. The site continues to grow and has a solid community base. Inclusion of this site on Wikipedia may have been viewed as an advertisement and breaking the "Wikipedia is not a soapbox" rule, however the submission to Wikipedia was discussed in our forums as a way to acknowledge the hundreds of members who adore the site; many of those are Wikipedia users have found many of their other loves sites included here.

Winged insects

I'm surprised there are no links to winged insects here – the V-1 at least is meant to have taken its nickname from sounding like one or other large flying insect with loud, slow-beating wings. Suggestions are welcome. – Regregex (talk) 20:17, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
