Sighting
She was on CNN Thurs nite and left me with the vague impression she was speaking for an EFF-style org. Was i mistaken?
--Jerzy•t 19:34, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell she is still associated with Enough Is Enough, which is involved with protecting children on the Internet and opposing online pornography; the only comparison I see with the Electronic Frontier Foundation is that both are concerned about the Internet. See [1]. --Metropolitan90 05:13, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
Huh! Not a very good listener, am i? I doubt it was a matter of my hearing "EFF" when she said her organization has a subsidiary called ESF....

206.113.153.250 (talk) 15:48, 24 April 2008 (UTC)The article references that Hart dropped out of the 1984 race after the Monkey Business photo was released. I do not believe this is acurate. Smithsonian magazine just did an article on this and it stated that that particular photo was released well after the scandal broke and Hart dropped out. 206.113.153.250 (talk) 15:48, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Scandal? What scandal?
This page only peripherally mentions that she was involved in "the sex scandal that ended the 1987 campaign of Gary Hart". Shouldn't that be expounded upon just a bit? Perhaps some details of the scandal itself, or maybe an image of the infamous "Monkey Business" picture? I know it's gone into in detail in the main Gary Hart article, but without some explanation of her political notoriety, this article is questionable in notability. -DynSkeet (talk) 17:55, August 16, 2005 (UTC)
- The fact is that no one would ever have heard of Donna Rice if it wasn't the Gary Hart Scandal. It was buried at the bottom of the article as if it was being covered up. Connor7617 (talk) 10:42, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Miss South Carolina World beauty pageant
There are plenty of sources that mention this, however she isnt listed on Miss South Carolina, and "Miss South Carolina World" mostly links to copies of this article and the sources for it. Is this a regional pageant leading up to Miss World? John Vandenberg (chat) 09:28, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- There is a Miss World America who competes in the Miss World Pageant There is a Miss South Carolina World that competes in the Miss World America pageant. I can find no record of who won the 1980 or 1981 title. As this is a relatively minor competition, they may or may not exist to validate this part of her article, although it is referenced in a magazine article about Mrs. Hughes. Chronology of Hart scandal
It is well noted, by the New York Times and others, that Hart suspended his campaign May 8, 1987. The National Enquirer photo appeared in its June 1, 1987 issue. Bai noted in his book, which was excerpted in the New York Times, that this was weeks later. Yet someone wants to keep misstating the sequence of these events. This is the biography of a living person, and the page needs to be factually accurate.71.58.61.170 (talk) 05:21, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Donna Rice Hughes
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Donna Rice Hughes's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "NYTimesFall":
- From United States presidential election, 1988: Johnston, David; King, Wayne; Nordheimer, Jon (May 9, 1987). "Courting Danger: The Fall Of Gary Hart". The New York Times.
- From Gary Hart: Johnston, David; King, Wayne; Nordheimer, Jon (1987-05-09). "Courting Danger: The Fall Of Gary Hart". The New York Times.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 13:31, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

High intelligence
I remember reading at the time that she has an abnormally high IQ, nearer 200 than 150. Meltingpot (talk) 18:30, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- There is no way to document anyone's IQ --Bf2002 (talk) 22:04, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- What of it? I've read a lot of blatantly false things, too, but I don't expect anyone to care. -- Jibal (talk) 02:08, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
Page Editing
As an employee of Donna's at Enough is Enough, I would like to discuss the possibility of being the editor of this page. I realize that it is important for Donna to have her bio on Wikipedia, but as she is still a living person and this is her bio, I would like to maintain it in the most up to date and graceful way. This article is focused mainly on Donna's past, rather than what she is working on. I would like to update the page and refocus it to be more present. --EIE2011 (talk) 17:21, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- There cannot be a wholesale removal of the Gary Hart scandal, but you can work to clean up the article. If you really do work at Enough is Enough then may be you can get an up to date photo for the top of the article.--Corbridge (talk) 23:43, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Being her employee seems like a good reason NOT to edit this page.--Son of Somebody (talk) 02:19, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Anybody who can add objective general information is welcome regardless of their relationship to the subject. Her current activities as a spokesperson of EIE are relevant and far outweigh the brief but highly publicized introduction in the American media. This page does note the contrast. Added EIE bio photo to balance older photo--Bf2002 (talk) 20:52, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- If it wasn't for Gary Hart, no one would have ever heard of her.
- Really? If she hadn't been a model, TV actress, and former Miss South Carolina, the tabloid journalism and innuendo suggesting that there was something improper in her relationship with Hart would not have been possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doctor Franklin (talk • contribs) 16:36, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- I believe Ms Rice's TV career consisted of one uncredited appearance on Miami Vice, and there is a significant difference between Miss South Carolina, and Miss South Carolina World. They are two different padgents. Connor7617 (talk) 16:57, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

- If it wasn't for Gary Hart, no one would have ever heard of her.
- "TV actress" -- barely. "and former Miss South Carolina" -- nope, she wasn't. "the tabloid journalism and innuendo suggesting that there was something improper in her relationship with Hart would not have been possible" -- bollocks. That statement makes no sense. Hart challenged the media to catch him behaving improperly. The media was tipped off and observed Rice entering his townhouse. She either spent the night or slipped out of the back door. Her career had nothing to do with any of that; it was all about Hart, and Rice could have been anyone. You don't even attempt to challenge the statement that no one would have heard of her if not for Hart, instead going off on a non sequitur that is simply a fabrication. -- Jibal (talk) 02:24, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
- It should also be noted that there are no verifiable references that Ms. Rice was Miss South Carolina World in 1980 or 1981, or any year for that matter. The only notability that Ms. Rice had in 1987 was the photo which I noticed you spent a great deal of effort to have removed from WP, and her association with Gary Hart that contributed to his decision to end his Presidential Campaign. Indeed, her subsequent career as an Internet Safety advocate may be commendable, but might not meet the Wikipedia:Notability requirements. Connor7617 (talk) 17:20, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
