"Eagle Wings"
[edit]What badge does this statement refer to?

- I've changed it - it is clearly confusing, non-standard terminology, and not appropriate for an enyclopedia article in any event.139.48.25.60 (talk) 14:57, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Easy Company Soldier
[edit]Don,
I'm taking this time to thank you for sharing your personal story in your book Easy Company Soldier. I've read every book that has been written about the men of the 506th Easy Company and yours by far has been the one most impactful on my life.
My father was a WWII Veteran in the Pacific theater, he past away 11 years ago and he never shared his war time experiences with me. In fact when I left for my tour of duty in Vietnam in the Air Force in 1966, the only thing he told me was that I would see things that would turn my world as I know it upside down. That as close as he came to telling me anything about his personal experiences of his two years in the Pacific theater.
When I found your book on the Band of Brothers website I went to the Barnes & Noble book store; they didn't have it in stock. So I had them order it for me. Once I started reading it I could see that this book was not just another book about the Band of Brothers but one man's personal journy and how his WWII experience affected the rest of his life.
As I was reading your story for some strange reason I started thinking that your story could be my father's story that he never opened up to me about. I really miss my dad and I wished he would have shared his WWII experiences with me; but thanks to you Don and your book, I feel I know my father a little better and why he was the man he was.
Thanks Again, your Fellow Vertran,

Actions while deployed and Medals earned
[edit]- While the information this article contains seems to be accurate, I believe more could be added on the topic of Malarkey's actions overseas while he was deployed. The article lists how long he was fighting in each country he was in, but only briefly talks about the part he played in the various battles that were fought in Europe. Donald Malarkey was featured in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers". In my opinion, the article could have informed the reader how similar his actions in the series were to his real-life experiences. Several medals are listed and attributed to Malarkey, but little information is given about what his specific actions were to have earned these awards. Jzimmer13 (talk) 22:32, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
