No real means of writing it out of universe style and there is little substance apart from the episode by episode recount. Anything pre Season 4 is not sourceable due to the changes on the show's official site, which is not a reputable source. Any crucial information on the character can be mentioned in the main article. ETA: Dependent on the outcome of this PROD, I'd nominate: Mac Taylor, Danny Messer, Aiden Burn, Lindsay Monroe, Sheldon Hawkes, Adam Ross and Sid Hammerback on similar rationale, however I didn't want to over PROD if there was reason for this not to go. All are: virtually verbatim copyrights from the CBS site, Wiki and other fan sites and have no notability outside CSI:NY ergo can never exist outside an in-universe style. I wasn't going to nominate this but I saw the "source it" tag and decided to. I've already submitted Stella Bonasera for the same reasons. Travellingcari (talk) 03:20, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contesting this for the same reason I stated on Stella Bonasera. Redfarmer (talk) 16:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
quick note here, since most of what I said on Stella Bonasera applies. However note the {{Primarysources|date=December 2007}} tag from December 2007, which was not my doing. The tagger raises the same concerns as I did re: sourcing. Thanks for having this discussion, out of those I contacted you're the only one to get back to me and I appreciate that -- a discussion on the topic. So what do you think the next steps should be?
I'm sure that discussing characterisation and character development counts as out-of-universe e.g. "[a character ABC] is portrayed as a diametric opposite to [a character XYZ] in order to create a dramatic contrast between [two ideas D and E]". It's called critical analysis, and it has a place in an encyclopedia. Problem is sourcing it. Next steps are 1. trawl web for sources and 2. incorporate them into the framework from Gil Grissom. Yes, it's that simple! Editus Reloaded (talk) 21:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I've actually begun work on a draft that stemmed from a discussion on Stella Bonasera. You're more than welcome to comment there, here or on my Talk page. I'm still fleshing it out and intend to move the content, I'm just using that as a work space. Travellingcari (talk) 21:44, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are there two issues here? Looking at your draft, it looks like you're making a list for a general CSI:NY characters page; I was talking about individual articles. Editus Reloaded (talk) 22:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
it's going to depend on how much information there is for the character. At the moment, I'm putting them all on one page as a work space. I think some, most likely Mac and Stella will be sufficient for their own page. I'm not sure whther the others will. To be honest, I haven't had time to work on it the last few days but I am doing some searches for sources that will pass notability, reliable, verifiable, etc. Travellingcari (talk) 03:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
