[edit]Does sex with a 19-year old count as pederasty? -Will Beback 01:03, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
It would depend on the cultural context. In the United States 18 is consdiered the legal age of majority so it would not be considered pederasty. 65.125.163.221 07:38, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Subsequent partner?
[edit]I read somewhere that Bachardy has taken a younger partner since Isherwood's death, but there was no mention in the film Don & Chris and came here hoping to find more about that. Such long-term serial monogamy would seem to be elegantly symmetrical. --Hugh7 (talk) 03:12, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm a reporter who just did an interview with Bachardy -- he said Isherwood as 48 when they met. Also, shouldn't the mention of the Jerry Brown work note the controversy over that piece? The article should probably add that Bachardy may be one the most influential American portrait artists alive today, since he's one the few on earth that paints solely from live sittings - no photographs, no second sessions, no revisions. He also may be one of the most prolific - he prefers to paint at least 3 portraits a day, sometimes up to 5, nearly every day. |

Bibliography
[edit]The "Bibliography" section has been changed to "See also" due to the fact that the subject has not written the books in this section; as is customary for a listed category. The section "Works" covers this to a degree. However, if an editor should ever wish to "open this literary can of worms" as to listing the endless biographies of Isherwood that mentions Bachardy, the former Bibliography section would be undue-weight larger than the article itself. Recommendation is to remove the section altogether since it has no bearing on the subject at all; but simply starts a dialogue as to how many printed works mention the subject related to his partner: Christopher Isherwood.
