To prevent "edit warring"

Pinging Hayman30 first. Inclusion of a redirect to an article that is bound to be made soon is not only supported by the guidelines laid out at MOS:REDIR, it is a primary reason we use redirects. Rather than piping links that will possibly get made, redirects are a great tool for seeing if demand is there for a page move or for a separate article to be created. Furthermore, being accused of "edit warring" for reverting what was, in my opinion, a poorly-justified removal of a completely useful redirect is completely unwarranted and rude. Please help me understand your point of view on why a redirect for an album that is out in less than a month is not worth including in this article. Sock (tock talk) 14:44, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

@Sock: Such guidelines merely suggest that "you might want to" do so, not that you should do so under all circumstances. Regardless, considering there is minimal information on the discography, I don't see how it would be beneficial to the reader, especially when there are already lots of links to the artist's pages. I don't really care about your views on "being accused of 'edit warring'", what happened was you've made controversial changes, and I reverted it, and you reverted my revert, going against WP:BRD. If you think that was "a completely useful redirect", tell me here, not through edit summaries, because that'd ultimately escalate into an edit war which will get either or both of us blocked. As far as I'm concerned, the proximity to an album's release is not a determining factor in linking redirects. Hayman30 (talk) 23:38, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
