I think the writer of this article should view the cartoon again.
[edit]True, this cartoon was a prototype for the characters that became Sam Sheepdog and Ralph Wolf. However, in this particular cartoon, the sheepdog's name is Ralph, and the wolf has no name. We know that because, when he punches his time card, Fred says, "Hello, Ralph." In short, this article needs some major revision.
