Inquisition
Why is there almost no information surrounding the Inquisition, or any history in the 1300s and 1400s? It's a pivotal period in the Dominican Order's history, seems very strange to completely gloss over that. Has somebody been deleting information on this because it makes the Order look bad? Article sources are very poorly cited
The sources "Tugwood", "Bennett", "Woods", "Wood" (if it's different and not merely a typo), "Ross", and "Clark" are cited in the bibliography style. They should be listed (as the unique source by an individual of that name) in the "Sources" section, but, except for Tugwood, they are not. It's impossible to identify which work is meant with only a surname and page number. There's a quotation from Woods with an unmatched quotation mark but without any possibility of checking the source, it's impossible to verify. Please add the relevant works to the "Sources" section with s full citation. Hairy Dude (talk) 02:33, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed. The book "Woods" might be 'Mysticism and Prophecy: The Dominican Tradition', by Richard Woods, Orbis Books, 1998. That's judged by a find I made trying to identify the reference "Woods, 37. Quoted from Benedict Ashley, The Dominicans (Collegeville, MN, 1990)" which supports a quote ending "which is all that God regards". Google Books[1] finds 1 page matching that quote in this Woods book, on page 37, which matches the reference on this page. Unfortunately, Google Books doesn't show the actual text that it found on that page, but does report the text as found. This book by Woods might at least serve as a good source for improving references, if nothing else. Someone will have to go find the book, however, since it's still under copyright, so GB doesn't show the whole thing. Inkwzitv (talk) 04:11, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- I will deleted the untraceable citations, their presence offers no value. Wayne Jayes (talk) 06:44, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
- Does anyone know what to make of the following citation "Lee, Monastic and Secular Learning, 61." ? Wayne Jayes (talk) 06:51, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
