Wittkower reference

[edit]

I've removed the following reference:

  • Wittkower, Rudolf (1993). "4". Pelican History of Art, Art and Architecture Italy, 1600-1750. 1980. Penguin Books Ltd. pp. p 78-82. {{cite book}}: |pages= has extra text (help)

Wittkower's book, however valuable as a broad survey, is not, like the other references listed, an important contribution to Domenichino studies. Moreover, either the citation to Wittkower should be to the first edition, 1958, or to the much-revised addition brought out by Yale U. Press in 1999, which updates Wittkower's notes and bibliography. (Information courtesy of User:Respear.) -- John Broughton (♫♫) 23:30, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
