Notable
[edit]The page is definitely notable. I'm in New York, and their becoming well-known very quickly. Certainly not a candidate for deletion. very much a candidate for deletion..... if people new the truth behind all the lies...... delete them (Pyjamamad (talk) 20:11, 19 August 2010 (UTC))Pyjamamad (talk) 20:11, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Lucie leaving
[edit]It's not very well sourced at the moment. It is in the Google Cache of her Twitter feed from December 8th,[1] and Digital Spy picked up on it,[2] but it is now gone from her Twitter. Fences&Windows 21:35, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Band's official name
[edit]It's The Dolly Rockers. Change it back. The Blue Guillemot (talk) 10:52, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Can you provide reliable sources confirming that? I note that their official website currently refers to "the Dolly Rockers", rather than "The Dolly Rockers", suggesting "the" isn't part of the name. Adambro (talk) 11:34, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Their Twitter suggests "The Dolly Rockers". [3] The Blue Guillemot (talk) 11:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Their Twitter also refers to "the Dolly Rockers", noting the lowercase "the". I note their single artwork only mentions "Dolly Rockers". There doesn't seem to be any compelling evidence that the name is "The Dolly Rockers" and so I think the article shouldn't be moved. Adambro (talk) 12:15, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Grammar
[edit]This article is full of mistakes with spelling and grammar. It's awful. It needs to be fixed. RaisedinRotherham (talk) 18:53, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Their fans tend to be quite young, and some have been editing lately. Feel free to edit it. Fences&Windows 22:26, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Requested move 1
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: No move. There's no consensus that the "the" is widely used enough to include here. Cúchullain t/c 15:11, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Dolly Rockers → The Dolly Rockers – Their website identifies them as "The" Dolly Rockers. Unreal7 (talk) 23:41, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:THE. --Labattblueboy (talk) 04:01, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- WP:THE states that "In all cases, default to the form of the name that is actually used by the band themselves, and use "(band)" to disambiguate if necessary." That conflicts with **WP:COMMONNAME, as outside of the official site, "The" is omitted or in lowercase, and not part of the name. If they have renamed themselves (such as The Verve) and this is reported in reliable sources I may still support the move. Peter James (talk) 19:08, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- You would need to show that its almost exclusive written as "The Dolly Rockers" and not "Dolly Rockers".--Labattblueboy (talk) 15:48, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
- The guideline doesn't say that. Condition 2 contains the words, "would be capitalized", not "would always be capitalized" or "would almost exclusively be capitalized"; in this case it's inconclusive. In the "Names of groups, sports teams and companies section, it recommends that "The" should be included if it's almost exclusively capitalised, but that the default is to use the official name - "Eagles" is preferred over "The Eagles" because it's the official name, not because default is not to use "The". This article may be an exception as the official name is almost exclusively not used. Peter James (talk) 13:46, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- The guidelines states "When a proper name is almost always used with capitalized 'The'". If you can't show that I remain opposed.--Labattblueboy (talk) 03:00, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- I'm also opposing the move, per WP:COMMONNAME despite WP:THE. It's just that WP:THE doesn't say that "The" should only be used in those circumstances, and titles such as The Beatles are in line with my understanding of the guideline. Peter James (talk) 15:45, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Dolly Rockers → The Dolly Rockers – I know it's only been a few days, but here's more evidence of the "The". Their official website, fashion blog, YouTube account, Twitter feed and Facebook page. They were referred to as "The Dolly Rockers" on The X Factor. 1,470,000 results for "The Dolly Rockers" and 469,000 for "Dolly Rockers". Unreal7 (talk) 13:02, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose - used on some CD covers, some not. Don't see anything new from last week's RM. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:31, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- That's also the case with The Pussycat Dolls. Unreal7 (talk) 17:41, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
