In March 2002, Woolworths' Gerald Corbett said, regarding Woolworths' progress at his stores, that "Some city centre stores are vast open deserts with nobody there."

As the Scotsman article makes clear, Corbett was actually quoting Stanley Kalms, who had made those comments some 20 years earlier. It's difficult to see how this equates to "doing a Ratner", although it was obviously spun that way by the media. 217.155.20.163 17:08, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
