The result of the move request was: speedy accept Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:07, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
– Given the large number of meanings for the term "Dodger", I doubt that this rather specialized sailing term can be the primary topic of the term. bd2412 T 15:35, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- Strong Support. Clearly not the primary topic. Even when only considering the Dickens character and individual members of the MLB team, the sailboat part lacks the necessary long-term significance. Regarding pageviews over 90 days, there's no contest, even with the boat part getting unintentional primary topic views: Los Angeles Dodgers, 72943; Artful Dodger, 20597; History of the Brooklyn Dodgers, 17639; Brooklyn Dodgers (a redirect to "History of..."), 6715; Dodgers (a redirect to the team article), 3093; Dodger (the boat part), 3050. - Strong support - suggest next editor gives a speedy move and close. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:08, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Strong support a member of the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers is a Dodger, and high profile meaning. Then there are draft dodgers also called dodger and high profile. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 08:24, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Weak oppose - I'm a sailor. I get that. But every other use of this term requires expansion, (i.e. Los Angeles/Brooklyn, Artful, etc). This use does not. Regards, Aloha27 talk 13:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Not entirely. There is also a Terry Pratchet novel with the exact name, and a G.I. Joe character with the exact name. bd2412 T 14:44, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Boy, we're digging deep here aren't we? Regards, Aloha27 talk 16:37, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- If this title was an article on the novel, and someone suggested moving it based on the sailboat topic, I would have the same reaction. bd2412 T 16:53, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
