reliabiltiy

I see many Omnis still on the road, many are still running, and also, the 2nd gen Escort has a record for reliability.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Karrmann (talkcontribs) 19:54, 15 August 2005

Yeah, but how many do you think are still running throughout the country? Not much, seeing how some Omni owners didn't seem to take care of their cars. --ApolloBoy 18:16, 4 September 2005 (UTC)

Subcompact city car

Chrysler -Plymouth produced, but never marketed, a 4-passenger electric subcompact city car in the US in late 1977-early 1978/I actually saw a shipment of such cars on the lot of a Cioncinnati Chrysler-Plymouth dealer. I'm certain Chrysler would never have designed, profuced or deliverd such a car to dealers had it not been financially worthwhile. So my question is: Why did Chrysler never market this car? Who stood to lose if this elevtric car were marketed? Who stood to gain if it were not marketed? One thing is for certain: Had this electric car been marketed, the US and perhaps the rest of the world as well would have been much less dependent today on oil. Are you sure those weren't custom-built? --ApolloBoy 18:48, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

VW underpinnings

"Today, many Omnis are still on the road. Mainly it's the Volkswagen underpinnings which made these cars last very long." How well founded is this? I haven't seen an Omni in years, and I don't think there was much VW in them except for the engines in the earliest models. RivGuySC 02:18, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

I agree - it would be wrong to credit VW with any longevity, and I see no evidence that Omnis are any more reliable than Chevettes or Escorts. I'll delete it. --SFoskett 03:51, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
I rode in my buddies omni today, so they do still exist on the roads. AlsoI'm all for splitting the article into Omni and Horizon. 209.121.231.111 21:30, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Not VW underpinnings

Underpinnings are not VW. VW parts do not fit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShelbyNeon (talkcontribs) 00:14, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Wording change

I changed pizza delivery "boy" to guy as delivery boy is an insult to delivery people. Just hope no one objects. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ScottForster (talkcontribs) 23:44, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Rename

The Omni should not get all the glory be having its name be the article. The Plymouth Horizon was just as important of a car. Bavaria 02:50, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Nope, naming articles after two cars are against WP Automobiles standards. Karrmann 16:07, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
How much difference was there between the Omni and Horizon? Not much, if I recall. Even cosmetically, they were virtually identical. There's not much difference beetween this case and the Dodge/Plymouth Neon. Same car, same name. (This is why Plymouth no longer exists.) I assume there were more Omnis sold than Horizons, which is why the article is titled Dodge Omni. --Sable232 22:11, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

I have no problem with the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon sharing an article. However, the Horizon did outsell the Omni, and I think appropriately, the article should be moved to Plymouth Horizon. I'm actually going to go ahead and propose it. Jgera5 (talk) 16:21, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Dodge OmniPlymouth Horizon – The Horizon outsold the Omni. I think appropriately, the article should be called Plymouth Horizon instead of Dodge Omni. Jgera5 (talk) 16:22, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
