I'm fine with merging the two if the Dobsonmeter directs to Dobson ozone spectrophotometer —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ottar (talkcontribs) 10:08, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. Also we should merge with Dobson spectrometer. Rod57 (talk) 02:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article used to say that 1 DU corresponds to 1 mm of ozone at STP. In fact, 1 DU corresponds to 10 µm of ozone at STP. I have corrected this. Deathmare (talk) 13:27, 31 May 2011 (CET)

There are still Dobsons in use in Australia at several locations around the country. (http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/glossary/ozone.shtml ) Can we update the last paragraph to reflect this, or get more accurate stats on where they are still in use? 165.228.173.3 (talk) 06:21, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Typo wrt to operation of the R-dial?

[edit]

The article states, "When turned, the R-dial filters and blocks out the light of the UVC wavelength until the intensity of the two wavelengths of light are equal."

Yet earlier in the article, it's mentioned that UVC doesn't reach the ground. I'm wondering if it's UVA that is filtered by turning the R-dial.

--> I've corrected this, because the reference: https://web.archive.org/web/20081205184820/http://ozone.gi.alaska.edu/dobson.htm and the table of UV radiation terminology by wavelength (Wikipedia itself ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet , both support the fact that it is indeed received UVA radiation that is adjusted by the filter. 2601:281:8700:1F70:7C94:DF79:E110:8933 (talk) 02:06, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
