Coordinates

[edit]

The coordinates must not be totally right. It appears to be a little too far to north on google maps.

I fixed it.--Tarlatata (talk) 14:20, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

Exactly why is Kungliga Djurgården (Swedish: "The (Royal) Game Park") translated like that? Swedish is not my best language but i know that "djur" means animal, so it should be "animal park". As you can also see from http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/djur. "Game" seems to be what the animals were there for, but still. 85.217.21.99 (talk) 15:38, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, literally, djurgården is put together of words meaning "animal" and "garden", but in these circumstances it means game park. That is what the combined word djurgård means. 891 mm (talk) 19:26, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Djurgården and Kungliga Djurgården

[edit]

Kungliga Djurgården acctually consists of two parts, North Djurgården and South Djurgården. Collocuially, only South Djurgården is what is the island called Djurgården, so it is wrong to say that the island Djurgården is the same thing as Kungliga Djurgården However, I don't have time to rewrite this now (and I also am not sure how to best do it). 891 mm (talk) 19:33, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

IPA check?

[edit]

I'm no linguist (or Scandinavian, but by ancestry), but the IPA shown seems not to jive with the sound file given. It seems like it's missing an "r" sound (or the voice sample contains an "r" that isn't there?). Any locals have any input on this? YellowAries2010 (talk) 02:49, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
