Name change
[edit]I changed the phrase "TNA Entertainment" to "TNA Wrestling", but it was reverted. My question is... why??? TNA is not called TNA Entertainment.
The company is called TNA Entertainment...
Is Dixie in anyway related to dead former country music singer June Carter Cash? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.233.105 (talk) 05:11, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Picture?
[edit]I believe this article should have a picture, at least. After all, it is the President of TNA we are talking about. Wasn't there one up a while ago? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gruntyking117 (talk • contribs)

So panda energy bought the company for only $250,000. They have had to make an enormous profit since then, why doesnt someone list what there profits have been over the years? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.124.14.13 (talk) 01:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Picture? Part Deux
[edit]Apparetly, the picture uploaded from Canoe by CRiyl was copyrighted by The Sun and removed from the Commons. Any chance we can approach TNA for a press kit to use containing Dixie Carter's image (to be placed under Non-free Promotional pending the creation of a template, similar to Non-free WWE Photo but for TNA Wrestling Photos) or barring that, a picture that someone can shoot and upload under a Creative Commons license? Dixie Carter-Salinas → Dixie Carter (wrestling) – While "Dixie Carter-Salinas" is her legal name, she is invariably referred to as "Dixie Carter". Moving the page to this new name better reflect's Carter's professional name. McPhail (talk) 19:30, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

- One small thing, regarding dab purposes we usually (wrestler) over (wrestling) so it should be wrestler indstead.--174.95.111.89 (talk) 23:20, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- She isn't a wrestler, though. The suffix "(wrestling)" is used for disambiguation in the case of Jim Barnett (wrestling), David Crockett (wrestling) and a few other wrestling personalities who didn't wrestle. McPhail (talk) 23:39, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Ops my mistake, wrestling is fine then.--174.95.111.89 (talk) 00:12, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Just one minor point. I've seen both (wrestling) and (professional wrestling) used, the latter use I presume is to distinguish from amateur wrestling. Then again, discussing that may have broader consequences, as it would affect more than just this article. RadioKAOS – Talk to me, Billy 01:35, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- I think wrestling should be fine unless there is another Dixi Carter who is an amateur wrestler.--174.95.111.89 (talk) 02:48, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

- Support - "Dixie Carter" commonly known due to TNA explicitly referring to her as such, on its broadcasting and television shows, on its website impactwrestling.com, and her official twitter also doesn't mention her husband's name. Starship.paint (talk) 03:46, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose; natural disambiguation is preferred over making up our own suffixes. Is there any other variation of her name which doesn't collide with Dixie Carter? bobrayner (talk) 16:48, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support While Bob is generally right about natural disambiguators, when common usage is so overwhelmingly using the ambiguous name, as is the case here, then it seems a good place to WP:IAR and use the parenthetical. The advantages are that a) linking becomes easier using the pipe trick and b) someone searching for her via the search box will see the "(wrestling)" disambiguator and know which article is meant without having to know her married name. oknazevad (talk) 23:29, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support - Her common name is Dixie Carter, and much like the aforementioned Barnett and Crockett "(wrestling)" is an appropriate suffix.LM2000 (talk) 00:41, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support. Natural disambiguation is only preferred when the alternative name is commonly used in English. If the alternative name is not commonly used or recognizable, it's more helpful to the reader to just go with a bracketed disambiguator. Jafeluv (talk) 10:14, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Importance of article to Wikiproject
[edit]The article is clearly of low importance - "little importance to this project, but it covers a highly specific area of knowledge or an obscure piece of trivia" as Carter's influence over and impact upon the world of professional wrestling has been relatively small and of a short duration. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 10:32, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- Suriel1981 - I'm really not sure how you can say that. She's been President of TNA for over ten years now, that's over ten years that TNA has been the #2 promotion in the United States. You can read, Impact Wrestling#International broadcasters, TNA's outreach extends to Africa, the Middle East, Imdia and Europe, and they recently made inroads into holding events in Japan. As President for all but the first year of TNA's existence, Carter is easily responsible for all of TNA's success. It's not like she's been permanently off-screen in the corporate world. She's appeared on television and on social media since 2009, having public presence and was prominently featured in main event storylines more than a year ago until very recently. TNA is kept afloat by the financial backing of the Carters. She is as important as any top TNA wrestler, if not more so. starship.paint ~ regal 23:50, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
70.36.56.19 (talk) 05:59, 17 July 2015 (UTC) Comon now, TNA has not been having success. THE last 5 years have been one loss after another. Whether it is wrestlers, revenues, TV deals, house shows, PPVs, everything. She has over seen the complete obliteration of the TNA business. No president in any organization would have survived such a downtrend for such a long period of time. She has remained in charge of TNA solely because her Dad's company owns the business and he has been funding their losses each and every year. They are now basically a TV show on a very small network that tapes 4 - 6 times a year, and maybe has one PPV per year, and no house shows.. and a roster that has almost no name value left. That is a LONG drop from monthly PPV's, weekly house shows, and big name wrestlers on huge network just only a few years ago. They may not even have TV after September, and if they do it will continue to be on a very small network.

She's no longer with or involved with TNA, so stop with the edits
[edit]5% is her stake to stay away from the company. She is not an advisor to TNA in the slightest, she's been given a job with Fight Media Group who have nothing to do with TNA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SickPup2 (talk • contribs) 01:34, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Legacy
[edit]Ok so most wrestlers and people in the biz thought she sucks. The Legacy section of this Wiki article is really ridiculous; do we actually need a list of everyone who said they think she sucked? This could be almost cut out and referenced if you really wish to keep all the sources. Kav2001c (talk) 02:07, 8 September 2021 (UTC)kav2001c
