HPD
[edit]I added HPD so that the reader understands the nature of the ranking and the popularity of the distros. Pmlinediter (talk) 11:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- http://distrowatch.com... offers Linux/ Unix products and should have more emphasis on donations...!!! 2600:1700:9480:EF60:0:0:0:415 (talk) 17:05, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
Ubuntu Satanic Edition banned
[edit]Should this be mentioned in the article? Link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=914760 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.85.199.228 (talk) 23:12, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Parallels
[edit]I am not sure, but today (2010-09-21), I tried to go to the website. It seems to have been taken over by Parallels. The title states, "Nellai Online Default Parallels Plesk Panel Page". Can anybody confirm that? Maybe it is a matter of DNS mistake in my area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Espadrine (talk • contribs) 20:58, 21 September 2010 (UTC) Note: it is now gone, as of 2010-09-29. DistroWatch shipped by Cannonical for post #1 on top when Fedora is more powerful than ubuntu. You can see this excuse about Fedora is #2 on top. Cons: Fedora's priorities tend to lean towards enterprise features, rather than desktop usability
WTF? Fedora is for end-users and CentOS or Scientific Linux is for Enterprise server --'
Don't believe it. (DistroWatch) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.146.240.52 (talk) 15:13, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
.com Down
[edit]The .com site has been taken down due to "account issues", according to the message there. Distrowatch.org is still up and running. There is some more info at http://www.zdnet.com/linuxs-distrowatch-site-stumbles-7000031266/ and http://www.itworld.com/open-source/426012/distrowatch-domain-registrar-problems-alarm-linux-users. Since they're still looking for a new registrar, I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate to update the articles and templates to .org, since it may just be a temporary outage.
