Promotional?

This article reads too much like promotion/advertising, it needs some balanced NPOV editing. "Disneyland Park, known as Parc Disneyland in France, is the jewel in the crown of the Disneyland Resort Paris" -- come on! 131.111.8.97 19:12, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

This article can't be considered a promotional one, simply because the phrase 'Disneyland Park, known as Parc Disneyland in France, is the jewel in the crown of the Disneyland Resort Paris' describes exactly the park in the contest of the Resort itself. Nobody could say that Disneyland Park isn't the best place if compared to any other place (especially if compared to the other park in the Resort, Walt Disney Studios Park) INSIDE the Resort.

Deal with it then, change the phrase so it is more NPOV, instead of complaining about it. What do you think the edit tool was for? We will not progress by moaning about it. --Speedway 17:37, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Start up problems

This article deals rather superficially with the rather huge start-up problems Disney had, not only with visitors' expectations, but also the labor and culture clashes with employees. Compared to the treatment of Disney Hong Kong's start-up, this treatment is thin. Language- French or English?

Should the attractions be listed in French or English? I say English, because they often have English counterparts, and this is the English version of Wikipedia. However there is some concern over Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril) because this attraction is unique to Paris and all external literature references it by its French name. Can we have this one exception? Are there others? Should Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant be renamed Sleeping Beauty Castle (Disneyland Paris)? Bytebear 00:36, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

'Sleeping Beauty Castle' is, at least traditionally, not an official name of the Disneyland Paris castle: even Imagineering uses the French name in official English-language texts. I'm not sure about Indy.Tomsintown 00:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

English. This is the English version of Wikipedia so people will be looking for the English Name. The English language version of the official website [1] lists 'Indiana Jones and the Templte of Peril' so I think that should be under its English name. The official site also lists 'Sleeping Beauty Castle' so again I think that should go in English. However, there are some French names on the English official website (eg. 'Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains') so I guess those should be in French. --MarkS (talk) 07:16, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Just because the incompetent fools at the current marketing team decided to go ahead and translate the name of le Chateau on the website (which is chockful of mistakes and contradictions anyway) does not mean that that's its official name. Imagineering calls it by its French name and has always done so, just like "Le Visionarium" has never been "The Visionarium" and Pirates of the Caribbean has never been "Pirates des Caraibes". The website and brochure's editors tend to change names and at a whim and what's there today may be gone tomorrow. I think we should reevaluate what we need our sources to be. Any organisation has the right to change what it calls itself or its products and we should follow what they would like themselves to be called by the wider world. An internal part of a company will often use a different name. For example: somebody who works for Prudential_plc calls it the Pru but the Wikipedia article shouldn't be under Pru. So we shouldn't use the necessarily use the name that a part of the organisation uses internally. In addition DLP is likely to have different names for rides depending language. An internal team needs to stick with a single name so everybody there knows what they are referring to. However, here in the English Wikipedia should go with the one the company presents as the name we should be using. --MarkS (talk) 14:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I would say that the English versions of official Disneyland Paris website and mobile app would be an appropriate source of truth for the English names of attractions at Disneyland Park, as would the English version of the printed park map. Article title move

How come there was no discussion for moving this article's title? Are you sure that is the official name? The very logo used in the article says "Disneyland Park." --blm07 10:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

It needs to be changed. the name of the park in English is "Disneyland Park (Paris). This is not a French wiki. Bytebear (talk) 06:02, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I apologize for the abrupt move of the page without any notice. So that everyone is happy, the openning sentence starts like this: Parc Disneyland, commonly referred to as Disneyland Park.... I feel that this is the proper way to go with the article. I'll also try to fing a French Parc Disneyland logo so that both logos can be posted as official logos.68DANNY2 (talk) 22:54, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

The official English name for the park is "Disneyland Park". Official. It even says "Disneyland Park" over the entrance of the park. And this is the English Wikipedia. I will revert the title change. SergioGeorgini (talk) 14:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Merge tag

Someone has added a tag that this park article be merged into the main resort article. So, let the discussion begin ...

• Oppose ... per consensus on all the Disney Parks and Resorts articles, each main resort complex (Anaheim, Orlando, Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong) should have an overall article, with each theme park component (for Paris, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park) again having its own article. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 14:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Disneyland Railroad

I've created the article Disneyland Railroad (Paris) as a stub, but have absolutely no knowledge of the railway. If anyone could help, it should be quite easy to copy edit some stuff from Disneyland Railroad. Thanks for any help! Glenny127 (talk) 17:46, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

History

Euro Disney

Did I imagine this, or was the park known as Euro Disney before it became known as Euro Disneyland? If so, should this be added into the timeline of names?--TimothyJacobson (talk) 20:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

The theme park was originally named "Euro Disneyland". The whole greater Resort complex was named "Euro Disney Resort". Such as "Disneyland Park" is the theme park at "Disneyland Paris". --Glenny127 (talk) 23:46, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
