Fair use rationale for Image:Hyperion Publishing.png

[edit]

Image:Hyperion Publishing.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probable source of the name

[edit]

The protagonists' airship in The Island at the Top of the World was christened Hyperion, probably after the Greek Titan. knoodelhed 07:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disney HyperionHyperion Books — Clearly the most common name for the company. It is the official name that they use on their websites, and which all book information uses. -- Jrtayloriv (talk) 07:22, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hyperion Books and Disney Hyperion

[edit]

The move discussed above was executed on the same day, 2011-01-02. Thirty months later, User:Spshu re-targeted the redirect Disney Hyperion to Disney Publishing Worldwide --where I posted a related notice moments ago.

About 100 articles link Disney Hyperion ([1] what links there). I checked only one, the biography Barry Miles, and found the piped link [[Disney Hyperion|Hyperion]] in citation of one 1993 source.

I don't know why so many articles link Disney Hyperion† and now DPW indirectly, but take for granted that many should link here. (Few should link the defunct Hyperion Press, i guess only by some rare mistake.)

Is there any good reason Disney Hyperion should redirect to DPW rather than here?

† If some template, probably a navigation box, is responsible for numerous links to Disney Hyperion, that should be revised. --P64 (talk) 18:48, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About 500 articles link here [2], including redirects to this page, Hyperion Books [3]
  1. Disney-Hyperion Books 1
  2. Hyperion (Disney) 0
  3. Hyperion (publisher) ~150
  4. Hyperion Audio 0
  5. Hyperion Books for Young Children 0
  6. Hyperion books 3
Hyperion Books for Children, however, redirects to Disney Publishing Worldwide --thanks to User:Shortride one year ago, and fitting my own 2013 comment "no longer asoc w Hyperion Books".
About 300 articles link Disney Publishing Worldwide including evidently relevant redirects to DPW [4]:
  1. Disney Hyperion ~100
  2. Disney-Hyperion 7
  3. Disney•Hyperion 0
  4. Hyperion Books for Children ~20
Numerals report the number of articles that link either this page or DPW respectively.
I hope this helps. --P64 (talk) 19:08, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I apparently redirect with out knowing that the Hyperion article was originally at Disney Hyperion and that links to Disney Hyperion were not corrected. As per the Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) article as sourced: "With the June 2013 announcement of the Hyperion Books sale, Hyperion's adult trade book division was moved to Hachette Book Group. Books related to existing Disney–ABC Television Group properties, young adult titles, and Disney-Hyperion imprint and titles were transferred to DPW.[27]" Thus, the Disney-Hyperion imprint (Hyperion Books for Children imprint have been a part of DPW since 1995) is held by Disney Publishing Worldwide, while the rest of Hyperion is owned by Hachette. It is the reason for Disney Hyperion to redirect to DPW. Spshu (talk) 18:59, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the redirect target to DPW from HB for Disney-Hyperion Books and Hyperion (Disney).
Hyperion (publisher) is important because it is used in so many articles and is a problem because both targets are sure to be sometimes correct. I think it should be a disambiguation page.
Perhaps all of the Hyperion pages that evidently pertain to publishing but do not specify Disney --or children or kids?-- should target a disambiguation page.
I provided Disney Hyperion with a redirect explanation --template Redr parameter e0, {{Redr|e0=}}-- that it is "primary". I provided complementary redirect explanations for several others, Disney-Hyperion and so on, that defer to both {Disney Hyperion and Hyperion Books for Children as the "main" redirects. The latter is in Category:Redirects with possibilities (no change).
