Taste
[edit]What do TRPV1 antagonists taste like? Do they all taste spicy like capsaiscin? Or is that particular chemical an agonist? And if so, do these antagonists block the ability to taste spicy foods..? Anxietycello (talk) 02:39, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Not only are they not spicy, but if you manage to reach complete inhibition of TPRV-1 you could ingest pure capsiacin and not feel the effects. Capsciacin is only a partial(low efficacy)agonist, and most antagonist drugs bind to the protein with much higher affinity (potency.)Though you should be warned, doing so will cause you to run a terrible fever.
