The angler fish

[edit]

When the male angler fish merges its body into the female angler fish, this process is known as disambiguation.

Consequently disambiguation means the opposite of what it usually means here, it's two things becoming one, instead of two things being distinguished from one another. 108.20.1.45 (talk) 16:40, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Does a reliable source document the word being used in this sense? If so then it could be added to Anglerfish#Reproduction, giving it a WP:DABMENTION which would make it eligible for inclusion on this page. Certes (talk) 19:18, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell, no reliable source has said anything about "disambiguation" in anglerfish, besides encyclopedic sites in the general sense of disambiguation in Wikipedia. Frostcrush Valari (talk) 19:46, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
