[edit]- Comment: 1. There is no problem with notability. He held a position equivalent to mayor, and that's sufficient for presumptive notability. Perhaps the previous reviewer did not notice that. 2. there is a problem with content. As the last reviewer correctly said, remember that WP} is not a genealogical web site. The article should be about the person and his accomplishments. Background information on his family should be inclded, but briefly. His children can be briefly listed, but not any further. Minor details and picturesque background should not be included. Peripheral information, such as the military role of r=merchant ships, should be omitted--just link to other WP articles. 3. Please do not make references directly to jstor. jstor is merely a way to access articles published in academic journals, not a publication in its own right. When you use jstor, make the references to the article, using the cite journal format. Add a note that it was accessed thru jstor and give the link.4. As a matter of style, the lede paragraph should be considerably shorter. When ready, let me know on my user talk page and i shall review and if possible accept it. - Comment: I'm looking for sources to establish notability of this subject. The genealogy materials referenced are possibly useful for verification but since they're inclusive directories, they can't be used to establish notability. What reliable sources should we be looking at here for indications of notability? A lot of the cited sources don't even mention the subject but perhaps that's because I did not search for all possible spellins at all possible sources. ~Kvng (talk) 22:18, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: A Google search cannot be a source on its own. You need to link to the specific page. 14:59, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
