Is the iupac name of this compound definitely correct? Its listed as diphenylacetylene, but iupac specifies that C2H2 is called ethyne, and not its trivial name acetylene. So shouldnt the iupac name of this compound be diphenylethyne? |

- The name (2-phenylethynyl)benzene (see PubChem) sounds better to me.
- Also I would like some information about which atoms are involved with the aromaticity.
- Last but not least, is this molecule planar?
