Place of Birth

[edit]

There seems to be some confusion over Aidit's place of birth. Feith & Castles in Indonesian Political Thinking 1945-1965 (1970) say it was Medan, as does the official Indonesian government account (Sekretariat Negara 1994). The current article says Bangka Island, and although this appears to be unsourced, I wanted to ask if anybody knows any different before I change it. Any thoughts anyone? Poor Quality of this Article

[edit]

This article is of extremely poor quality. I started correcting glaring errors, then realised every sentence seemed to include wildly inaccurate claims. I got rid of the sentence asserting that Aidit became a Marxist in the Indies Social Democratic Union (ISDV), an organisation that ceased to exist before Aidit was born, and another claiming that he was a "member" of the comintern (an institution that did not have individual membership and which dissolved itself after several years inactivity when Aidit was nineteen years old). I don't have time to re-write it. Please somebody get rid of the fiction that it contains and re-write based on reliable sources.Slmiller6 (talk) 08:09, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please clarify

[edit]

"Achmad also changed his name to Dipa Nusantara, which was shortened as D.N. and was often mistaken for Djafar Nawawi, to conceal his descent which was at first, rejected by his father." This is somewhat convoluted and confusing. Is the father rejecting the name change or is he trying to claim that he is not Achmad's father? The bit about the short form and the mistaken understanding of its meaning seems haphazardly inserted into this as well. Would suggest splitting into two sentences. --Khajidha (talk) 15:27, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
