Separate articles needed
[edit]Each book in this series needs its own article. 23skidoo 19:21, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- First consult the Ireta series listing at the Internet Speculative Fiction Database. --P64 (talk) 18:26, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- Well to start I think the article should be expanded, and a short synopsis written about each.Meatsgains (talk) 18:29, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't read any of them. I think probably there should be an article on Dinosaur Planet Survivors but Planet Pirate Series should collapse into this or into one article on "Ireta". --P64 (talk) 02:57, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Following the Internet Speculative Fiction Database (ISFDB), as we do elsewhere, I have set up all five books as the Ireta series. That is, I have created a new stub Dinosaur Planet Survivors, with a lightly edited version of the summaries from this article (which leaves almost no summary here). I have created incomplete {Infobox books}s for that article and the three Planet Pirates books which place them all in the Ireta series as four sequels to Dinosaur Planet. The lead paragraphs also place them in that series.
Now all five need substantial editors. --P64 (talk) 21:44, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Major revision
[edit]I have completed a major revision that is nevertheless quite limited in scope. Previously there was very little about the content of the books (which I haven't read) and I have added nothing about them.
The {Infobox} is now complete for the first edition of the book, although its cover image is for a Del Rey US edition. Some of what I have written in the lead and new section Origins, some of the meticulous references to ISFDB, will be useful to mimic if/when someone covers the sequel and/or sub-series or Ireta series in their own articles. Some of it may be appropriate to delete from this article and put in one of those if/when companion articles. --P64 (talk) 23:35, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- Substantially the article is now shorter. It is a stub again. See above. --P64 (talk) 21:50, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Front cover images
[edit]Multiple cover images might be notable in an article about the Ireta series. I mean cover images from multiple editions of the books, not to mention one set for all five books. They might be notable because of confusion, maybe great confusion, regarding the scope of the one Ireta series and/or two Dinosaur and Pirates sub-series.
On the other hand, multiple cover images might not be notable or warranted because it is "easy" to reference specific ISFDB Publication Listings, as I have done for the first edition Survivors in the article (Reference #4 as i write). Many ISFDB publication listings include thumbnail images of the covers, as this one does.
I have deleted the section devoted to front cover images because there were only two, merely duplicating the two cover images at the right margin. --P64 (talk) 23:37, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- Good work, the pictures were rather redundant.MilkStraw532 (talk) 23:50, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- There is now a Stub Dinosaur Planet Survivors, where alone the second cover image appears. See more information above. --P64 (talk) 21:50, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
