Didn't this practice begin with Al Jolson?

The entry for Al Jolson says that Broadway theater lights were dimmed for him in 1950. So, wouldn't that have been the start of the tradition? LondonYoung (talk) 13:42, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
