A prime minister–designate, not a prime minister

[edit]

Kovačevski is not the Prime Minister of North Macedonia yet. He is a prime minister-designate. He is the president of SDSM, which has a majority in Parliament. In the next period (according to the Macedonian media and according to the Speaker of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi, tomorrow) he will officially receive from President Stevo Pendarovski a mandate to form a new government. According to Xhaferi, the procedures will end around January 15 or 16, when the Assembly is expected to hold a session and formally elect the new government. So, if everything goes as announced, Kovačevski would become prime minister in January 2022 (Kovačevski himself has said that this must happen by January 19 at the latest).

I will update the article with these developments. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Идеологист (talkcontribs) 15:57, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
