Merge suggestion
[edit]This article should be merged into a paragraph of Cabinet of curiosities. Both of them mentions Barnum's American Museum by P. T. Barnum as example. Of course a redirect from Dime museum to Cabinet of curiosities after the merge.1000mm (talk) 14:48, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Disagree. I note that while there is some overlap, "Cabinet of curiosities" exhibits had a long history in early modern Europe, originating as elite collections. "Dime museums", popularly called such, were a general entertainment business of specific 19th century US entertainment origin. -- Infrogmation (talk) 16:19, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
