Ray Charles and Dillard

I found a NYT story describing how musician Ray Charles donated money to create an endowed professorship in African American culinary studies at Dillard University. The program is unique in the nation. Surely somebody can write this up in the article. link. 5oh4 (talk) 16:14, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Trustee list

The article lists all past and present trustees and all honorary degree recipients. Other University articles do not include such lists. I would be interested in hearing a discussion on the pros and cons of including the lists. Racepacket (talk) 19:24, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Reworking

I've just done some reworking of the article. Since we already have separate articles on Straight University and New Orleans University, I don't see reason to more than breifly summarize their history here. I've also reworked the narrative, which switched back and forth between the two institutions, to detail them separately, since they were different unconnected institutions until late in their history. -- Infrogmation (talk) 22:28, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Edit to the mention of hosting David Duke

Hello, I'm the assistant director of communications at Dillard University and I'm contacting you about an inaccuracy about Dillard University hosting David Duke. Here's the verbiage on Wikipedia. "2016 senatorial debate[edit] In November 2016, the university hosted a debate with senatorial candidates, including David Duke.[7][8] The event was met with opposition;[8] six protesters were arrested.[7]"

The university did not host David Duke, however the university did rent the space to Raycom media, who hosted and moderated the debate. And because the rental agreement was made months in advance, we were not aware of the candidates who would participate in the debate. Here's some links addressing that fact:
