UK release date inconsistencies

The HMV release date is the 02/04/07 which is referenced however the date provided by the Material Girls site is 9 days earlier than the HMV release date....which one is correct? For the moment I've kept with the HMV date.

Referencing new information

Rather than adding new information (such as song titles) and risk having to removing it when it turns out to be false, it's much better to refrain from adding new info until it is confirmed by reliable sources. http://www.popgeneration.com/zone/popgen/team.php?team_id=34 is not one of these; anyone can contribute to that website, as indicated by the number of errors on the Duff page. I realise fans are eager to keep the article up to date as much as possible, but let's also remember to keep it accurate; we're not trying to "scoop" the opposition here. Unexplained removal of content

I see one editor is persistently and inexplicably removing a chunk of information about what a writer for EBiZ Entertainment had to say about the album. UK Release Date is 26th March

Fourth or fifth?

Is this Hilary's fourth or fifth studio album? Technically it should be the fifth because Santa Clause Lane is her debut album.

Most Wanted & 4Ever do not count as "studio albums" as they were primarily "compilation albums" making Dignity her 4th Studio Album 87.80.242.28 19:20, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Dignity is Duff's third studio album, due to the fact that 4Ever and Most Wanted were considered compilation albums, and Santa Clause Lane was a holiday album, and it isn't considered a studio album. The article is really coming together now, but I'd just like to remind people to avoid inserting POV statements like "the album is hoped to do well in the charts" and "Dignity was well received by fans and critics alike" - how is fan reaction measured? Segues are not errors

"Play with Fire" was the first single, "With Love" the second

I have noticed at least two editors on this article, the Play with Fire (song) article and the With Love (song) article are under the mistaken impression that "Play with Fire" was some kind of promo-only release or "sneak peek" or "teaser" for the album, which makes "With Love" the "official" first single from the album. It isn't. Promotional singles do not have music videos premiered and put into rotation on major video programs, a release on download stores such as iTunes and a mainstream radio release; if it was a "teaser", it would have likely only been issued as a download, if that. "Play with Fire" was released to radio and video outlets in the U.S. in August 2006, after which the album was pushed back, the single hardly made any chart impact and "With Love" became the first single in most countries. Never at any point did "Play with Fire" somehow go from a widely released single to a promo/"teaser" release. Duff herself said on Total Request Live (August 15 2006) that "Play with Fire" was the first single from the album.

Odd, really; I thought we wouldn't again have to undo rewriting of Duff history after dealing with the overwhelming number of fans who seemed to think Santa Claus Lane isn't a Duff album. Extraordinary Machine 22:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

"With Love" is the first single of the album, "Play With Fire" was supposed to be in the Material Girl's soundtrack before it got canceled. It's how, "Why Not" isn't a first single to "Metamorphosis" it's a single for the "Lizzie Mcguire Movie" soundtrack. Dadan121 18:10, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

It was never reported anywhere that "Play with Fire" was going to be on the Material Girls soundtrack, so the Metamorphosis comparison is moot. Duff said on Total Request Live when the "Play with Fire" video premiered that it was the first single, so I don't know why she indicated "With Love" was the first in her podcast. But Duff refers to Metamorphosis as her first album, even though it isn't, so... ? Like I said above, "Play with Fire" was released to radio, television and online music stores, so it wouldn't make sense to not consider it a single. Extraordinary Machine 16:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

And during her interview on the Dignity DVD she says that "With Love" is the first single. This is very strange, given we have contradictory claims from other sources associated with Duff, such as these two other interviews:

LOGOonline: "But she’s got a new album coming on April 3rd, from which she’s released a first single “Play With Fire” (complete with a Kylie-esque video–and dance remixes, too) and now a second single, “With Love.”"

SingerUniverse Magazine: "Released as something of a “teaser” months before the album was finished, Dignity’s first single “Play with Fire” became a minor club hit; its follow-up, “With Love,” was released in early 2007 hit #24 on Billboard’s Hot 100."

Plus what Duff herself said on Total Request Live! I've put a compromise into the lead section, saying Dignity *includes* three singles — whichever you consider the first single from the album, it's a fact that "Play with Fire" was released as a single, as Duff says herself in the Dignity DVD interview. In an interview with Comcast in 2007(most likely July), when Duff was artist of the month, she stated that "Play With Fire" wasn't really a single, she just felt like releasing it, and also because she felt like making a music video. The reason for a mainstream release was that she thought if she released it is a promo, it would chart. Unfortuanetly it didn't. Album sales

Does anyone know what the album sales are. I know it's somewhere around 300,000, but I would like to know anexact number. The sales also sort of lower than the usually are though the album really just seemed to decline rapidly down the charts. I think that eventually it will go gold, but it's sort of suckey for her that the album sales are low, but as of now I do see the album rising a little on the charts. It's gone from 147 to 130 to 126. I still would like a sales amount.nikki41 11:58, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Failed GA

Before the review, I should note that this article is way better than most album articles. The main reason I'm failing the article is because it's not stable and has the {{CurrentAlbums}} template. The chart and sales information is still developing, and many of the sources will not be verifiable in a few months. Once the album is off the charts, here are some changes to implement before renominating. Though it's more than adequate now, the Style and themes section is long and thorough enough that it might be a good idea to expand the first paragraph and split it in two, then split the entire section into Musical style and Lyrical themes. There's a one-sentence paragraph in the Critical reception section. The Charts section is poorly referenced. Some of the links no longer work now that it has left the chart or has moved to another position, and others will be in the same state soon. Some are just unsourced. It's too long anyway by the standards of Wikipedia:Record charts. There's no reason to have a Certifications section with only one certification, especially when it's already included in the Chart performance section. Tracklisting clean-up?

Apparently, the album will be re-issued and the single will be "Reach Out" which she has performed on tour. I'm not adding this until there's official news, but it makes me think that the tracklisting section will be very messy. I already think it's messy enough with all the seperate sections, and a re-issue section won't help that! Are there any suggestions? XL XR2 21:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Re-release of Dignity

It's been added to (and removed) from the article several times already, due to a complete lack of reliable sources. Last I looked, there was nothing out there on the web, other than fansite/blog/celebrity gossip site rumours, which are not considered to be reliable sources per WP:V and WP:NOR. If it's been announced officially somewhere, feel free to add it to the article (being mindful of the above policies). Where are the pages for Gypsy Woman and Dignity

I think they also should have their own pages, and they did, but someone removed them, where did they go?? Because Gypsy Woman was really released as a promo single, and the Britney Spears promo single
I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) and Chris Cox Megamix also have their own pages, and so Gypsy Woman also deserves to have one. Dignity, has Reviews and Remixes, which is weird, 'cause it's no single, but still it has...so I think Dignity should also have his own page... Do you have any proof that "Gypsy Woman" was released as a single? Regardless, it didn't chart... as for "Dignity", lots of songs on this album have reviews, does that mean they all should have their own articles? No. Remixes mean nothing. Good article fair-use image issues?

The only two images used on a Hilary Duff album article are of Pink and Gwen Stefani. I don't understand how this is fair-use. The captions can be said just as clearly in the prose and there is absolutely no need for these two images. Plus, the rationales for both images don't specify that they will be used on a Hilary Duff album article. Just because they have FURs doesn't mean they can be used on any article. All of this should have been given some thought. Am I wrong in my thinking? I am ready to either remove both images entirely, or ask for a reassessment on the article's GA status, no matter how recently it was promoted. – Kerαunoςcopia^◁_galaxies 04:48, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
