DigitalTrends.com is a high-tech lifestyle website offering reviews, news, guides, how-to articles, descriptive videos and podcasts on technology and consumer electronics products. The spectrum of categories on which the site offers information includes a wide array of consumer electronics products like mobile/cell phones, video games and systems, laptops, PCs and peripherals, televisions, MP3 players, iPods, music players, digital cameras, video cameras, GPS navigation devices and so on. It also covers home connectivity, digital entertainment, and VoIP among other service areas.

History

Digital Trends was founded by Ian Bell and Dan Gaul in June 2001 in Lake Oswego, Oregon under the name Designtechnica Corporation. According to rankings published by ComScore Media Metrix and Nielson NetRatings, Designtechnica featured amongst the top 100 Consumer and Electronics Web sites.

Designtechnica was rechristened as ‘Digital Trends’ in April 2006. It is headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, (south of Portland). The company was founded as and still is a privately funded and owned corporation.

DigitalTrends.com provides information on high-tech consumer products in the form of news columns, professional reviews, how-to guides and videos, and user forums. The website aims to provide a holistic view of consumer electronic products and services. In addition to in-depth reviews by experts, the site also works as a platform for common users/readers to share their knowledge and experience with experts and other users on consumer and high-tech electronic product and services.

The website registers more 2 million unique visitors and about 10 million page views every month, and reaches over 40 million readers through syndication.

  • Ian Bell, the co-founder of Designtechnica Corporation, serves as the editor-in-chief, the President and the CEO of Digital Trends. He was the winner of the Microsoft MVP award for digital media from the year 2004-2009.
  • Dan Gaul, the co-founder of Deisgntechnica Corporation, serves as the CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of Digital Trends.
  • Nathan Bell is the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Digital Trends.
  • Scott Steinberg is the publisher of Digital Trends, and heads up the editorial team.

The editorial team includes professionals, well-known journalists and acclaimed writers from around the globe, including David Elrich, Stewart Wolpin, Krissy Rushing, Michael Brown and more.

The content of Digital Trends is syndicated to Yahoo, Google, MSN Canada, USA Today, Reuters, WindowsMedia.com, Korea IT Times and many renowned tech websites. The website has been partnered with by established content providers, who redistribute their content on media-related websites, including the ones operated by local broadcast television stations too. Digital Trends has found mentions in popular media outlets like CNN, KATU, Oregon Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

The user Digital Techno is attempting to work with us and the above is the info s/he would like to include in the article. So let's not delete it for now. Can someone help them out instead of biting them, COI or no COI? Designtechnica

There's a lot of info missing from the published page. No mention of Designtechnica, which is the parent company. Why is there so much info on the talk page that isn't showing on the main page?
