Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Digambar Terapanth. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Extinct as per http://library.jain.org/4.books/Articles/TodarMalSmarakVisangatiyan.pdf page 13. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realphi (talkcontribs) 21:06, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a reliable source. Even if it was, and the sect was largely defunct that would not be a reason to remove information by blanking. Wikipedia has, and should have, a huge number of articles and content on people, places and things that don't even exist any more. It may well be that there is a case for merging the content here to another article, but that needs to be the result of discussion and consensus. Also, please sign your posts and format them in proper headed sections. Thank you. -- Begoon 10:28, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

But, it is mentioned as one of the living sects in Digambara page, which is untrue. Also, Kanji Panth is the valid successor of Digambara Terapanth philosophically and ritually and hence a valid redirect. Kanji Panth is also called "Pure Terapanth". Realphi (talk) 17:09, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Germany is the valid successor of the Weimar Republic, yet both pages exist because the topics are noteworthy whether they still exist or not. Q.E.D. Untrue claims made on other pages are addressed on those pages, not here. And stop using unreliable sources to promote sectarian/non-mainstream viewpoints on WP - this can be seen as abuse of the WP process, and constitutes a case of POV pushing, of which repeated instances (as seems to be happening currently) can eventually get you banned. 198.84.253.202 (talk) 20:06, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of text by User:Capankajsmilyo Pankaj Jain

[edit]

I note that User:Capankajsmilyo has removed information based on the article by Prof. Cort

John E. Cort "A Tale of Two Cities: On the Origins of Digambara Sectarianism in North India." L. A. Babb, V. Joshi, and M. W. Meister (eds.), Multiple Histories: Culture and Society in the Study of Rajasthan, 39-83. Jaipur: Rawat, 2002

User:Capankajsmilyo claims that that the text is unsourced. I should mention that Prof. Cort is among the best known scholars of Jainism. One of his sources was Buddhivilas, a widely used source on the subject, which was also cited.

Bakhtram Sah Krit Buddhivilas, Rajsthan Oriental Research Institute, Ed. Padma Dhar Pathak, 1964

What he has written is also supported by what Dr. Kasturchand Kasliwal, a distinguished author, write in his

"Khandelvaal Jain Samaj Ka Brihad Itihas", 1989, Ch 9, Samajik Itihas.

I have seen all of these personally. I have all of them. I would urge User:Capankajsmilyo to keep that in mind.Malaiya (talk) 23:02, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Capankajsmilyo Pankaj ji: Kindly do not remove well-sourced information based on the work of distinguished scholars. I request you not to do that.Malaiya (talk) 04:01, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
