the band celebrates their 20th anniversary today on 25th of July 2009 in Stuttgart. A new album is in the making (source: the band). Production will start after the anniversary concert. There will be a tribute album with well-known german bands interpreting past songs from the Fantastischen Vier, coming out in August. There are plans producing an annual show in summer like the anniversary show (source: Fantastischen Vier management). 77.181.79.137 (talk) 14:03, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not among the first groups to rap in German

[edit]

The first paragraph claims that Die Fantastischen Vier were among the first artists to rap in the German language together with Advanced Chemistry, and later it is claimed they were the first German language rap artist to chart. The source given is an book which I have no access to for checking, but regardless neither claim is remotely true. I've not edited in wikipedia for years, otherwhise I'd do it myself. But please someone else remove them.

References:

The first German rap was "Rapper's Deutsch" by GLS United in 1980 - 12 years ahead of Fantastischen Vier! - , a cover version of "Rapper's Delight". It got to no 49 in the West German singles charts.

Admittedly it was a novelty record, but still it's a rap and it charted.

If no 49 isn't high enough, there was "Der Kommissar (song)" by Falco, recorded in 1982 and rose to no. 1 in 1982.

Falco is Austrian, but it's in the German language.

Another notable first was "Disco in der U-Bahn" by Rockhaus in 1983, the first East German rap.
