Talk:Dickson's lemma

I have a couple of reservations regarding this article.

Clarity: the statement of the lemma is very clear, but the discussion following it (regarding Topology and the Lemma's proof) is not, so I hope that it can be improved.

Sources: It is claimed that the lemma was known before Dickson's paper. Such a statement should be supported by a reference; giving a name of a person and claiming without reference that the lemma "was known to him" is not up to Wikipedia standards.

"It is a simple fact": a very unscientific statement. Fermat's theorem is also a simple fact, right?
