Rename page?

[edit]

I'm trying to find consensus for renaming "(mechanics)" pages, where "mechanics" refers to machinery, mechanisms, mechanical devices or mechanical engineering, rather than (e.g. classical) mechanics in physics and applied math. I would like to rename this page to "Diaphragm (mechanism)" or "Diaphragm (mechanical device)". Any preferences or objections? Geometry guy 20:46, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's a good idea there are some very technical definitions on Wikipedia. It would make sense to use more accurate, technically correct labels. I personally prefer Mechanical Device but I don't think there is a huge difference, so long as it differentiates devices from the mathematical subject, like you say. --lucuzade (talk) 11:17, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're replying to something from over 2 years ago, and the article has already been renamed. --Athol Mullen (talk) 11:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

I tried finding some references, but all I could find was to do with contraception. This is a little outside my knowledge (physics, not so much contraception) but there must be some textbooks or journals about this. DRosin (talk) 15:26, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
