It's come back again. I'm going to reinstate the redirect on these grounds:

  • The AfD was closed, and there has since been no consensus to restore this as a separate article.
  • The information still gives no evidence, let alone sourced evidence, that she has established independent notability.
  • It was reverted to a version in which the table is messy, apparently from before cleanups were made prior to the AfD.
  • User:Hithere2008 has been restore-warring against consensus; at the moment it seems that the article is here only as a result of this.

If a reason to restore this as an independent article crops up, please discuss here first. -- Smjg (talk) 15:33, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Well If lower placed Ruth Lorenzo has an article why hasn't she they have both been signed 86.161.252.78 (talk) 22:49, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

The question is not of why Diana doesn't have an article, but of why Ruth does. I'm not sure. But the real criterion is notability, not whether "signed" or not. And anyway, two wrongs don't make a right. -- Smjg (talk) 01:41, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to know why the page was deleted yet Ruth Lorenzo who is unsigned has a page and has nothing that makes her need a page, when deleting the page for Diana i was told it was because she hasnt released any music, well neither has Ruth. --Hithere2008 (talk) 18:02, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Time to restore this article

She clearly passes WP:BAND criteria 4 since she has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. This goes for all X-factor live show acts. --Triwbe (talk) 18:26, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

More - by these guidlines Wikipedia:WikiProject Idol series#Biographies of contestants, she also passes notability (Yanks consider anyone making the live shows as a finalist). --Triwbe (talk) 13:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

This article cleary needs to be restored! - sumeet_92 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumeet 92 (talkcontribs) 16:03, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but you have to give a reason within Wikipedia's policies, this is not a vote. Read WP:N and WP:BAND and discuss. --Triwbe (talk) 16:12, 9 June 2009 (UTC) Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Triwbe, I'm not necessarily opposed to the article being restored, but could you link to some sources? I had a quick google and nothing immediately leapt out at me as notable. I take your point re: the X Factor line show, but I'd regard that as justification for an article on the X Factor live show, not necessarily the individual acts (I'm open to arguments, however!) "GASP!"

1 read the guidlines:

For contestants, it has been decided that only finalists should qualify for their own article based on their participation in the show. Semi-finalists who are not otherwise notable are redirected to their season's article.

Check the category for pop-idol, every one who gets to the live rounds is considered a finalist.

2 Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL gives sources from digitalspy, the sun, Scotish TV, lastfm, daily mirror, dail mail. Infact for the phrase "Diana Vickers" -wikipedia there are 17,200 ghits in the last month. Notable, Reliable national sources, current and citable.

She has a record deal, the qualifications are more than satisfied.

OK, I'm not convinced that was helpful. Vickers was a semi-finalist in X Factor, so the guidelines (which I had read, but thanks for the suggestion) would appear to be being followed - they're guidelines for "X Idol" shows, by the way, not "X Factor", but I'd agree they're a good template to use for X Factor. I mentioned that I'd had a search online - I suppose I should have explained why I was asking for explicit references: I'd seen plenty of links to Vicker's personal life (actually, mostly pertaining to Eoghan Quigg's personal life...), but I wasn't prepared to wade through 17200+ links looking for something when I figured you'd have decent links at your fingertips. So... any chance you could provide a few links rather than pointing me at {{find}}, which I'd already used?

The Diana Vickers article need to be made. There are to many Reliable sources online. The information of Diana on the X-Factor page is becoming too lengthly. Besides half the constents have their own aritcle. Ruth Lorenzo, Laura White, JLS, Eoghan Quigg.

Which X-Factor page? I checked The X Factor (UK series 5) and there doesn't seem to much on her at all, beyond what you'd expect.
Incidentally, this has just been through a deletion review and the consensus was that she simply hadn't done anything notable - yet - outside the X-Factor. There were plenty of sources for her being "about to" release an album, but that's not notable.
Also incidentally, other contestants having articles isn't a reason why Diana Vickers should: it's possible that they've done more notable stuff, and it's also possible that their articles should be deleted. Quigg, for example, has released an album, toured with Boyzone, and filmed a TV series.

Diana Vickers has just been given the lead role in the West End play 'The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice' and I think it is fair to say that this makes her notable enough for this page to be restored!
