From redirect to full-fledged article

I have converted this page entitled Diana Ankudinova from a redirect page to an article page. Diana Ankudinova is notable because she has more than 270 million YouTube views of her television solo singing appearances on the NTV YouTube channel alone. In addition, her main official YouTube channel has more than 102 million additional views with more than 697,000 subscribers. In addition, there are many more millions of views of YouTube videos that are reactions to her songs.

When editing this page, remember that Wikipedia is especially strict about biographies of living persons. Facts about the subject must be carefully referenced with legitimate citations. This is an encyclopedia, and not a fan page. Things like YouTube comments (even if often repeated) and personal opinions are worthless as Wikipedia references.

More needs to be added to this article, but it needs to remain very concise. If you have relevant, well-referenced information, but do not understand Wikipedia formatting, leave the information on this Talk Page, and someone will eventually evaluate it for inclusion into the article.

One thing I included that some may consider extraneous was the rules for You Are Super. Japanese?

An unknown person has made an addition to the article adding Japanese to the languages that Diana has sung in. Does anyone know if this is true? When she was very young, and lived near the Sea of Japan, she may have done so. I am not aware of any Japanese songs she sings now.

Audio Pronunciation File

Added an audio pronunciation file of Diana's name to the infobox since nearly all English-speakers do not come close to saying it right on the first try (or even the 10th try).

It is almost impossible to get a file successfully uploaded to Wikipedia under "fair use" claims. Files must be either the uploader's original work or published under a Creative Commons license. Fortunately, Diana's former voice teacher, the late Olga Donskaya, always specified a Creative Commons license in her YouTube videos with Diana Ankudinova. I used the audio of Olga Donskaya introducing Diana in her first YouTube recorded session with her.X5dna (talk) 18:43, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

Reynald, I've never published a Wikipedia article in any language other than English myself, and I know that there are often (usually minor) differences between different countries. However, the following page may serve as a useful starting point:

For some reason, that page does not have a direct counterpart in the French Wikipedia, but there should be something like it on the French Wikipedia. Languages of Songs

The list of languages that Diana Ankudinova sings in has become a bit of a problem. She sings many songs in Russian, English and French. "Me Voy" and "Besame Mucho" are in Spanish. "Jodel Time" is partly in German. "Helwa Ya Baladi" is in Arabic.

Someone added Ukrainian to the list. I cannot find any instances of Diana singing in Ukrainian. Can someone name the song that Diana sings in Ukrainian?

Unreferenced opinion

An unregistered editor posted an unreferenced opinion in the lead paragraph. The change differed substantially from references used in other parts of this article, and it also differed substantially from the Russian Wikipedia article about the "You are Super!" television program. This has been fixed.

This article needs to be more tightly referenced in general. Please note that the Wikipedia policies on articles that contain biographies of living persons are especially strict. This article should only contain well-referenced facts. ShowMaskGoOn song listing

I made a few changes to the motion picture song information in the ShowMaskGoOn section so that it would be consistent with other Wikipedia articles. Since I am not at all familiar with these older Russian actors, I may have misunderstood something. NTV video links

On March 11, YouTube blocked all NTV content on YouTube. In this article, the block only affected the You are Super! performance links. The original performances (including the judges' comments in Russian) are still online at the NTV.RU web site. Although, in normal times, the video archive at the NTV web site is very safe to visit, Wikipedia editors who maintain this article have opted not to include these links in the main article at the present time due to the number of cyber-attacks now occurring in the region. Also, NTV has recently begun showing brief video pop-up ads before showing the archived content.

Removal of the Twinkle section

It was removed because of "unreferenced political statement". What other reference do you want? Just watch the referenced movie!

Diana Ankudinova has performed many songs about the Great Patriotic War (World War II). It is not clear why this song is especially notable. The author of the lyrics lived from 1900-1973. so any undocumented connection to current events would be speculative original research. (Original research is always prohibited in Wikipedia articles, especially when dealing with articles about living persons.) In the translations of interviews that I heard after she performed at her premiere of the song at the Victory Day event, Diana Ankudinova seemed to mention only things about Victory Day and the Great Patriotic War. It's notable because this song is a political statement of her! She takes an old (soviet-aera) propaganda song, dresses in a military uniform, makes a music video and releases it when the Ukraine war is taking longer than expected.

Based upon a limited understanding of Russian practice, I would highlight an apparent discrepancy between the show titles "The Mask" and "The Masked Singer." The former is what appears on the screen of the YouTube videos from the program, the latter is the name of the apparent franchise and is used in the US and elsewhere, but not by NTV on their actual broadcast. I noticed the same thing. The only reason that I used the name "The Masked Singer" was that there was already a Wikipedia article named "The Masked Singer (Russian TV series)." Also, I was watching (on the NTV web site on April 9) the last part of the program where Diana removes her mask; and I noticed that at the very end of the show there is a credit saying (in English) that the show is based on "The Masked Singer" from South Korea. So the Russian show is apparently a formal part of that franchise. I think you're right, though, and it would probably be better to use a compromise name like "Маска (The Masked Singer)."
