General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article is new enough, long enough, with good sourcing, and is plagiarism free (earwig, 12%). The hook is good for me. Picture is good and free to use. No QPQ neccessary as this is the nominator's 5th DYK. The next one will need a QPQ doing. Looking forward to seeing it on the front page. Lajmmoore (talk) 11:41, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

I’ll leave some comments or suggestions below. Please respond to them when you are available.

Lead Section

[edit]

- “She played basketball at Franklin High School in Somerset, New Jersey, where she was rated a five-star recruit by ESPN and earned McDonald's All-American honors.” When? I would like to see sources from ESPN and McDonald’s to verify this. They could possibly say a few things about Diamond Miller that would add to your article.

Early life and high school career

[edit]

- “and was named Courier News Player of the Year.” When? Requires source to validate.

- “repeating as Courier News Player of the Year.” ^^

- “In her childhood, she played basketball with her two older sisters, Adreana and LaNiya [1]” - the source does not mention her 2 older sisters or playing basketball with them. Could there be a better source?

  • The source says "Diamond always played against two older sisters... 'Her sisters made her a better player,' said Lance Miller of Adreana, who played at LaSalle and then at Ohio State as a grad transfer in 2018-19, and LaNiya, currently a redshirt sophomore at Wagner." - Please see Source Issues

Recruiting

[edit]

- No changes needed

College career

[edit]

- “Her team won the Big Ten Tournament” This link refers to the ‘2020 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament’

- “Following the season, she underwent knee surgery and was sidelined for three to six months [31]” The source does not contain the time in which she was out of action and only confirms she was suffering from the injury. Could there be a better source?

National team career

[edit]

- No changes needed

Personal life

[edit]

-“She majors in family science at the University of Maryland, College Park.” This could be an additional heading, ‘education.’ I also found a few sources to help with that. An autobiography should contain broad aspects of her.

The suggested improvements are the things that stand out and are keeping this article away from GA status. Unfortunately, as of right now this does not warrant the Good Article classification. I will spend time fixing minor details and adding to smaller sections; if my comments are not responded to within a few days, the article will subsequently be placed on hold.

Source Issues

[edit]

- “In her childhood, she played basketball with her two older sisters, Adreana and LaNiya [1]” - the source does not mention her 2 older sisters or playing basketball with them. UnidentifiedX (talk) 09:03, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You could replace the source with this: https://www.usab.com/basketball/players/womens/m/miller-diamond.aspx . It contains information about how she got into basketball because of her sisters. UnidentifiedX (talk) 09:05, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Reference 2 is unavailable in the UK, therefore it needs changing to ensure the text is valid. If this is just a personal issue please reply or notify me.

- “Following the season, she underwent knee surgery and was sidelined for three to six months [31]” The source does not contain the time in which she was out of action and only confirms she was suffering from the injury.

Thanks for addressing all my points, the article is good to go! - UnidentifiedX (talk) 15:08, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
