Hostile tribal game & fish employee
[edit]Be wary if you're a female taking your kids, going with a group of girlfriends or a lesbian couple. The tribal game & fish guy was horrendous in his accusations and threats. I feel like he would've treated me with respect if I were a man. Numerous accusations claiming our dog pooped on a part of the beach we were never at. Our big dog chewed through her leash while I was taking down our tent and packing up. Guy kept walking closer towards me as he was talking after I asked him several times to stop coming near me and that I could hear him. My son has autism and was freaking out screaming because of the bees and was right by the river which had a swift current and wouldn't leave it because he felt safer there. I broke down in tears crying because of how stressful of a situation it was for my kids and I. He did Not offer to help me in any way. That's what any game & fish man or woman would do at any other place we've been to; offer aid and be a kind human being. He continued harassing us and told me if my dog bites him he'll take her and have her euthanized, take our other dog (a harmless 17 lb pug) to the shelter and impound my vehicle. He still came closer at this point and our big dog was freaking out worse because she doesn't like when a stranger comes near me. He was clearly antagonizing the situation! I asked him - how will my kids and I get back to town with no car or cell service for 10 miles? He shrugged his shoulders!!! My kids were 10 & 8 at the time; no way we could make it that far. He told me the older man who works for game & fish would be meaner than him and enforce rules. I didn't take my kids & dogs camping to break rules and I didn't purposefully break any rules. Our dog had never chewed through a leash before in 7 years and of course I didn't bring an extra for her due to that fact. I said if there was a store right there I would buy one, but I'm not leaving hundreds of dollars of gear to go buy a leash in Peach Springs and drive for almost 2 hours there and back. I took my kids there on father's day weekend so they could possibly not think about having an absent father. Then this hateful individual, not a real 'man', had to scare the living daylights out of my kids!! They already don't have hardly any positive male influences or interactions. Now they have a God awful memory of a hateful Native American!! Shameless! They do not respect their animals on their village. Their dogs run all over the streets.
Thank God we made it out of there. Please see the Grand Canyon from another viewpoint. I should've asked for my money back for the permits I paid for from all of the stress that dude put us through!! I thought Indians were peaceful people. All I felt was very unwelcome from going in a gift shop at the hotel, to getting our permits, to asking for directions, to waving hello at the tribal family who left the dog poop and meeting the tribal employee! I was nice and smiled at everyone, even tried to make friendly conversation when they were unfriendly or rude. They have a very strong hate for white people!!! I didn't do anything to hurt your people. The past is in the past and it's time to move on and love one another!
One last thing...Guess what?! If you or a loved ones body goes missing on their land, they Do NOT have to comply with state or federal in the search efforts. Also they can deny access on their land to look for a body period. Even with evidence showing your cell phone last pinged on their land! I learned that from a doctors wife in Bullhead City whose brother went missing on tribal land!!!! You've been warned! 2600:1011:B07D:9BD:9C8D:74F6:BC8E:8BC0 (talk) 09:09, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
